Yummy on pancakes, waffles, yogurt and more! Salivating yet?
Never had real maple syrup before? Wanting to try this out before committing to a larger bottle? This is a great size to start on. Once you have tasted real maple syrup you will be addicted for life and your pocket book will thank you for buying the quart jar the next time around! Ben's is a PURE maple syrup that is not as richly tasting as some we have sampled nor quite as thick but GREAT for the price, still having a nice flavor. We use Ben's on pancakes, yogurt, waffles and even in ice cream. Yes, maple syrup in home made ice cream instead of sugar is SUPERB! Try it! I have a great Lemon Meringue Pie recipe that calls for maple syrup and it is delicious!A product of New Hampshire, make sure you keep this in the refrigerator. Unlike the "fake" stuff out there that dares to call itself "maple syrup" this is the real deal and will go off if left on your pantry shelf once opened. I have to admit that I place our bottle in the refrigerator as soon as it arrives even if we still have some left in the previous bottle.

Just the best. And, local too.
Love the flavor -just the right amount of amber. A must buy in our house!

Balanced and Not Overpowering for a Dark Amber. Good Enough for Every Day Even Though It's a "Dark Amber"
The new grading system has former "Grade B" now classified as "Grade A Dark Amber" which is appropriate because the quality grade is just as good -- only the color and flavor and scent are darker, deeper, and more pungent, respectively. I like the dark amber because I love a really "mapley" flavored and scented version in my genuine Maple Syrup. I can use a bit less and still get the full maple flavor, or I can mix with other syrups that are lower-glycemic (such as agave) and still get the maple as the primary flavor and scent. AND, it's much lower cost than the light-amber grade A. This version, Ben's, gives you a nice balance of acidity, a rarity in Dark Amber maple syrups, which are often acidic at the finish, almost sour. Many people only use the dark for recipes and candies, almost treating it as a sorghum molasses, but with this one, it's fine to use as every-day real maple syrup. I'm very pleased.

Good Mid-Priced Maple Syrup
I have been on an extended craving kick for homemade pancakes. I even invested in an electric griddle which for a single guy is probably too big. Though Mrs. Butter worth makes good syrup, I want only the best. So I tried several maple syrups at fairly high prices. Ben's Sugar Shack Maple Syrup seems to be a good mid priced version. I have used it several times already. It pours fluidly and does not require hitting the bottle to make it flow.So far, so good......not sure if it will remain one of my "subscribe & save" items because I don't always crave pancakes, waffles, etc. In fact, until this latest craving, it had been years since I even considered ordering pancakes or waffles at a restaurant nor to make them at home.

So Yummy! Buy the real thing!
I needed maple syrup for a recipe and went to the local market to by some. I realized then everything on the shelved was not maple. Finally I found one and purchased it and when I got home I saw the label said artificial flavor and my maple syrup was actually high fructose corn syrup. Frustrated, I got on Amazon and decided to give this a shot. My is it yummy! You take one taste and it makes you keep craving it. I keep trying to think of things to put it on. It' got a nice strong taste and is worth every penny. Definitely recommend this.

Great maple syrup, slightly on the dark side
The media could not be loaded. ย Maple syrup experts will tell you that every maple farm produces slightly different tasting syrups. Different years on the same farm will also differ slightly as the proceeding winter climate has an impact on that year's output in spring. I lived in Vermont for a bit and sampled a lot of syrups at maple farms. I prefer grade A dark over fancy, as dark syrup has more maple flavor than just straight sweetness. It's hard to describe the subtlety but I feel that Ben's syrup tastes heavier compared to what I had in VT. Ben's is from New Hampshire - perhaps that makes a difference? Nonetheless this is proper maple syrup, much better than generic supermarket stock. Price is very reasonable too. I will definitely buy again.

A new high for a maple syrup lover
I have always enjoyed authentic maple syrup. I have enjoyed Quebec, Vermont and even first draw syrup that had some rewards that i cannot remember. All of these syrups are outstanding--in fact, amazing. This is the best maple syrup I have ever had!!! the dark amber is really flavorful and is so smooth. It really does have alot more flavor than the paler. This syrup has a full-bodied, clean and wholesome flavor. Words do not express. How about this. . . 'taste the tree' maybe not. You just gotta try this!

Maple Lover's Miracle
Oh my goodness, but did Ben have a great harvest the season this syrup was harvested!Maple syrup, like most crops, can vary from year to year depending on rainfall, temp, etc. This Dark Amber syrup is Pure Gold.Full flavored, so much so that it holds its own even on a buckwheat stack. Never mind the blueberries or chocolate chips. Pure maple will be front and center in the taste and flavor department.
