Ateco Universal Pastry Coupler and Cap Set | 7 Piece Set | Works with 250 Ateco decorating Tubes plus tips from other brands

I see that most of the negative reviews are confused by this product and frustrated by the lack of instructions. The instructions were literally on the outside of the box I received (see pictures) and all of the parts are labelled on the part itself. There are two coupler bases (large and small) For full interchangeability and use, you put the largest coupler base on the piping bag. L, ML, and M tips will all attach directly to this; you just change the size of the tightening nut (again they are labeled) to correspond to the tip size. The cap is a really nice feature; it only fits on the large coupler base. The small coupler base (which holds S tips) also attaches directly to the large coupler base. You secure it to the large coupler base with the M tightening nut. If you are only using S tips and do not care about full interchangeability (and are not using the cap), the small coupler base can be used independently of the large base. How well this works with non-Ateco tips I cannot say, but it looks like there should be *some* flexibility. YMMV. Yes, I did not tighten them on all the way in my video. That is why they are so wobbly. Tighten them properly and it won't be an issue.

I'm embarrassed to say I have likely never thrown away a frosting tip. I have some that are really old. Over the years I have loaned them out and lost a piece here and there. Was looking at buying a new kit and came across this. Every one of my frosting tips worked on one of the couplers. For less than $7, I am back in business. Good quality. This was a really good find for me.

Added this set of couplers to my amateur cake decorating supply kit to accommodate larger piping tips. They work fine and it’s nice to have additional small tips available when swapping in and out many colors. If I had endless funds I’d just get the regular not universal couplers for all sizes as the size adjusters are kind of an extra step and a pain to keep track of. But they’re economical, work perfectly well, and take up little extra storage space.

So I only gave it a 4 star and I tossed between 3 and 4 so really its like 3 1/2 stars and heres why There are no directions, there's no way to keep all the pieces together and unless you really know what your doing you would be clueless for a lot of reasons. That being said I do love the product and I did find it very useful. I found it to be a little pricey but I also plan to buy another.

Other pastry bags that I bought, thinking they were large, said they were large but they were not. I make cream puffs and other pastries and I don't want to keep filling it. This bag is quite sufficiently big and so are the attachments. Easy to clean and I'm sure you'll like it.

Makes switching between different decorating tips a cinch!!! Having one coupler that works for the small cake decorating tips and the huge tips is genius. And I love that it has a cap so I can finish my decorating later and save my icing. Seriously…it doesn’t look like much, but this is such a great addition to dessert decorating tools cakes or cookies. ❤️

I did not like there aren't instructions. I do love the convenience.

I wanted to try Eclairs for the first time and resorted to ziplock bags because my star tips weren't big enough so i made a makeshift plain tip to work with. The Eclairs turned out HUGE and were still good but not uniform. So i ordered the bag and coupler and it went perfectly with a 869A star tip which resulted in smaller eclair shells that all looked pretty similar with less cracking.

These were much bigger than I was expecting. But there is one size I could use. Good quality

Ateco Universal Coupler Set. This would be a wonderful coupler set IF all the pieces worked as they should. My Medium and Large tips fit and work good. However, for the Small aka Regular Tips, the screw on part doesn't seem to work. It won't screw on straight, so using for small/regular tips this set is useless. My guess is that the inner 'threads' weren't made correctly. Others don't seem to have a problem, so mine could be just from a bad manufacturing batch. While there aren't separate instructions on how to use this set, there are 'instructions', so to speak, on the box. So I have no complaint in that I don't know how to put it together, as others have had. Really quite simple to use. But because I can't use this for regular tips, I would NOT recommend. I have contacted the company and should they rectify this matter, I will edit my review. UPDATE: I have now contacted the company TWICE and they have NOT responded to me. Other companies actually reach out to customers who aren’t happy, this company ... I have DROPPED to be lowest rating I possibly can BECAUSE of the LACK of customer service. I will not be doing business with this company again.
