Gladiator 4' Wide GearTrack® Channels, GAWC042P

The gear track channels are very easy to install by drilling a screw into a stud. The best feature of the gear track is the simplicity of adding hooks wherever you want them, as when you decide to change where you are hanging your tools, you easily slide it over or swap it out. As you can see from the pictures, gear track can hold heavy items like gas powered tools or lighter tools like smaller hand tools. A simple solution to hanging everything is to drill a hole in the handle, add two zip strips to make the top zip strip perpendicular to the hook, and the tools are easily removed from the hooks and replaced onto the hooks. The individual hooks can be pricy, but be assured, you will not be disappointed in your purchase. Make sure you buy the box of eight standard hooks as a starter set.

I actually preferred using this to mount my cabinets versus mounting the cabinets directly to wall. It makes it a one person job and you can slide the cabinets sideways to their perfect location.

Again, you can’t go wrong with Gladiator products. We used these in our master closet to add addition shelving we had on hand. Sturdy and holds a lot of weight. Our garage is Gladiator inspired.

This is made of heavy plastic and I have not had the system long enough to speak to its long term durability. Right now it seems to be doing extremely well. One advantage of the plastic is that if your walls are like mine and not truly flat, the gear track can flex a bit to follow the wall. They are easy to drill and the hooks can be installed and moved around easily as well. You need to be able to find the wall studs to mount them on the wall, Plan on putting two 2" deck screws through the piece of geartrack and drywall and into the studs every 16 inches. If your studfinder is giving you problems, tapping the wall, probing with a nail etc, will work ok because you can cover up your probe holes with the geartrack. We are pleased with the neatness, appearance, and improved roominess and accessibility of our garage after putting in 24 feet of geartrack with 24 various hooks (8 heavier duty). We also used ladder and wheelbarrow hooks from separate manufacturers.

These are so strong. I have heavy objects hanging from these with the specialty hooks. They work so well.

Easily installs and holds the hooks securely in place. Added to system that was in house I just purchased and they installed seamlessly. After using a few weeks I find the internal battery requires charging a little more frequently than I expected, however they pop right off the mounts easily. Mine are in a high traffic area so they do come on a lot. Just be sure to mount them in easily reached space
