Perfect for my old Sundance
The temperature probe on my old Sundance went out and gave an inaccurate reading. As a result, the jets did not function properly. I replaced the old probe with this one—and violá— it read the right temperature and the jets immediately started to work again. Grateful for how affordable this is and for how easy it was to replace. There’s a video on YouTube with instructions for replacing this in a Sundance.

The media could not be loaded. Does Your Sundance Spa Display "- - - -"?If So, You Have The Watchdog Error. The dreaded watchdog error on Sundance Spas from 2003 to 2009 is quite common. While most of the time this error can be cleared by simply switching off power to the hot tub for 15 minutes, sometimes it is a bad temp sensor. You can determine if it is the temp sensor by watching the display while turning on the circuit breaker to the tub. If it displays OH or ICE you probably need a new temp sensor. The other possibility is bad capacitors on the circuit board. As cheap as these are, especially with Prime shipping, I would highly recommend having one around as a backup. If you have one around, you can easily plug it into the two temp sensor ports to see which one is bad too.Pros:+ Best Price+ Comes with the Special White O-Ring That Other Shops Charge $6 for+ Relatively Easy to InstallCons:- Cable is way longer than any of their spas need it to beMake sure you watch the full High Resolution video on Youtube. Saved ourselves hundreds of $, just by swapping the temp sensor on our J345
After some quick research by my Hubby, he realized that our temp sensor on our 4yr old Jaccuzzi J345 was 'game over'. The temp display showed some 95'F (or less), while the water was super hot, and yet the heater just kept going and going... when measuring it manually it turned out to be more like 105'F. After some quick guidance via YouTube he was able to swap out the sensor in 45min or so, without even emptying any water. Now it works like a charm again, all dialed in and spot on! Some folks out there claim that such 'simple' fix would easily run us $600+, but instead ended up costing us the $30 for the part and less than an hour of my Hubby's time (+ some basic online research) the only drawback is that it did not come with a new rubber gasket (but luckily ours was still in decent condition)

Premium Quality -- Update on Install a must read
this thermostat appears to not have a gasket. So, I ordered gasket or gaskets. No need, as it turned out, the package I received had a gasket -- I should have read the Q and A before ordering the extra gaskets. I could see that a lot of people who purchased this had also purchased the gaskets too. No need, the package comes with a new, replacement gasket. Quality item -- overpriced, of course, but less than the price at other places.UPDATE 03/17/21: A problem solved. Do NOT thread the heavyier New thermostat wire through the hole and pipe running to the power box. Take the Tank Filter side of the tub panel off, easy, just remove the scres and let it down and move it aside. Dig out the Foam behind the Fildter tank on the left side, that is where you will find the tubing through which the Hex Headed Thermostat wiring goes. Unscrew the old Thermostat and pull the wire out and toss it. After removing the Foam insulation you should be able to see the tubing used to run this wire, it is PVC flex tubing with a 1/2" PVC threaded fitting and it will be loose -- the only thing holding it in place was the Threaded Hex Head Thermostat; Toss the flex pipe or cut it off to get it out of the way. WHY? You might ask, because this heavier wire from the new Thermostat will not freely turn, or spin around in the flex tubing when you rethread the new one in place and this will twist the new wires off. This new Thermostat is made much better and stronger and heavier than the old one and for this reason you can run that wire any which way you want. Get a 1/2" Threaded PVC connect, hold it up to the back of the hole in the Filter Tank, run the new wire through it and then once the Hex Headed Thermostat is touching, from the other side of the Filter Tank, screw it on -- don't forget to put the round gasket on first. Screw down to compress the gasket, no glue need. Now run you wire, there will be plenty of it, just keep it away from your pump motors and from the top and bottom of the heating element. simple fix, really. I spent some time doing the pulling of new wire through that fles pipe and that was not easy, becuase it kept jamming, then when I went to screw it down, will, I could then see the problem, this new wire and thermostat is way better than the old one but it is too heavy to pass smoothly or to allow for the screwing of the hex headed thermostat attached to it. I hope this helps

Works just fine except…
This sensor works just fine except for the ends that connect inside the control panel. The ends of this sensor will not connect to the plastic connect port in the control panel. Instead of the small folded ends that lock into the tiny plastic piece these ends are box shaped. So in order to connect them you must remove the tiny plastic connector and slide the small box end of the wire directly onto the metal pins that the plastic holder attaches to. There’s nothing locking the wire onto the pins but it does fit snugly enough that I don’t anticipate them falling off. Just be sure to save the small plastic piece in case you need it in the future. I’m just adding this in case it’s not immediately obvious what to do. I was weary about removing the white plastic piece but there’s no problem and it’s actually a bit simpler this way.
