Works perfectly. I used it to locate joists through a ceiling. In my case, the ‘pull’ feel was strong and definitive- it supports its own weight when you find a nail, so you can leave it up to mark around it, my only thought is you have to mark a few times around it to derive the centre location of the nail, whereas with round magnets with holes you can just mark the centre directly.

Very simple idea which works well But the underside is hard plastic, so kinda annoying and noisy to scrape around For the price, it should have had some felt material on the underside, so you can sweep the wall smoothly

Such a handy device for finding studs in walls, was slightly sceptical on how useful it would be but I have used this several times and always found the stud. No more multiple holes after banging on the wall guessing at stud locations! Magnet strength is very strong and accurate.

What a straightforward, great priced little gadget. Don't waste your money on the more expensive ones. This works a treat. Want to find nails, pipes in a plasterboard wall this is all you need. Excellent quality, couldn't be easier to use.
