I didn’t even know I needed these in my life until I was on a long road trip and my iPad died (the new iPad Pro). These have the new USB-C cords... which are fine, except you can’t plug them in to any regular USB charging blocks, let alone the charger hub that goes in the cigarette lighter of your car.These adapters fixed my life! Now I can plug my iPad into USB outlets... so I can charge the iPad in the car or off my computer. As seen in the picture, I can also plug into the wall with my old charger block.Thank you for the great product!

Whatever consortium of great thinkers created the USB-C standard should all be banned from official engineering roles. Luckily, these adapters can be added to normal usb ports to provide the mystical backwards compatibility that USB interfaces usually have. Now if we can only get a USB-C hub!I use this because I have a USB-C Yubikey, which works perfectly on PC and MAC. I also used it to connect my Google Pixel, and it works. Data, charge rates are slowed down to USB 2.0 standards because this adapter only has a 4-pin USB-A interface. But I can handle that slowdown thanks to the opportunity of not having to buy another Yubikey.

My sole purpose of purchasing this was to cut the cord on the Arctis One Usb-C transmitter and I have a winner! The pic is showing how it works and looks on the front of a Meshify C. I am using this adapter right now while listening to music wirelessly and it is perfect, no hissing, white noise, or cut-outs/ drops. It has other uses, but this is my primary use, so this can be used to simplify USB-C male to this female adapter that plugs into standard USB A. Don't buy this. Build quality is excellent but the internals are far inferior.Testing using an USB 3.1 Gen2 External SSD drive with both USB-A and USB-C cables. Without the adapter, Direct connecting the SSD to my Macbook Pro and using BlackMagicDesign Disk Speed Test, I get 750MB/s write speeds. This is the baseline.I connected my Nonda USB-A to USB-C adapter alone with the USB-A cable on the SSD and I get 750MB/s. I configure the Nonda adapter with this adapter to directly connect to my Macbook Pro and I get 30MB/s (not a typo).With my USB-A cable on SSD and plug it into a USB 3.1 Gen1 hub and I get around 400MB/s. I put back the USB-C cable and add this adapter, boom 30MB/s.Its far too slow. A clear don't buy.

This adapter looks nice and matched the space-grey color from Apple - however, it slows down your USB connection. On a connected 1 Gbps Ethernet interface, my throughput with this adapter is 40 Mbps. With another adapter I measure 160 Mbps, and with the same Ethernet USB-C adapter on an iPad Pro, it measured full bandwidth. It seams to be a general problem that these USB-C to USB-A adapter slow things down. I mainly use it for serial cables and no issue there.

Beware, USB-C suggests a lot of expectations that really are not true. This is an a substitute for a high powered source, it absolutely is not a substitute for a Video input. I think the best use you’re going to get out of this is a USB c telephone cord converted to a USB two. Any other expected use is a waste of your time and money...

After a disappointing purchase from another vendor (description was same but actual product was wrong), I had low expectations when I put in my order for this Basesailor USB C Female to USB Male Adapter. The description and picture looked right and the price was good (2 per pack) so even if it didn't quite work for what I had in mind, I would still be okay if the item worked overall.Thankfully, the adapter were exactly what I needed. An adapter for a USB-C adapter so I could use the USB-C adapter with a USB port. Such a small item, but quite an impact. Suddenly, I could use the USB-C adapter with my laptop via a standard USB port. That expanded how I could use my laptop and also the USB-C adapter. It isn't limited to just one or two devices in the household but any device that has a standard USB port. So I'm quite pleased with this product.Also bonus points on how quickly it came in. There has been delays on other items (not judging the USPS or Amazon as it has been a tough season), but this was received in good time and that was a nice surprise.

Best usb c to usb a female to make adapter on the market! Only thing I could ask for that would be better would be USB 3.0 speed across the adapter.
