Jessica Davis was my advisor, and this book was instrumental in the writing of my dissertation. It's one of my most valued possessions.

I usually don't buy books except from charity shops, but with lockdown, the libraries in my University were closed and I really wanted to learn more about portraiture, the approach I was using for my Dissertation. I read basically everything about it, trying to put off buying this book. I finally gave in, and honestly, it was worth every penny. The authors do a great job of outlining the portraiture technique, and it's honestly just an invaluable book for anyone looking to explore this kind of research.

A beautiful read. Sensitive to people and how we portray them in research. Brought tears to my eyes with it's artistic interpretation of something which can often be clinical or results driven.
