OXO Good Grips Punctual Egg Timer With Piercer

Well made and appears to be built to last. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this timer works, it's taken a bit of trial and error to get the exact cooking amount I want, perfect result every time now.

Received this morning and have already done three eggs of various cooking times. Marked indicator soft boiled - A little too soft for my personal liking, (egg white was a little too underdone) However there are two settings between each marked level, so next time I’ll just go up one notch. Marked indicator medium boiled - Spot on. Egg white fully cooked with yolk still a little gooey right in the centre. Marked indicator hard boiled - Perfect. Egg white and yolk fully cooked with no greeny greying of the outer surface (which happens when eggs get over cooked). Very simple to use. Nice spike lock function so you don’t accidentally stab yourself if you pick it up in a rush when say cleaning. Good beeper.

Doesn't cook soft yolk eggs. I tried numerous times- the yolk cooks faster than the white. For scrambled eggs it's great though, so I've kept it gor that.

These are good little egg cookers that make it almost painless to have a scrambled egg/omlette for breakfast. They are just deep enough to whisk the ingredients in and cook them in one minute (at 900w/one and a half minutes for two eggs), and the cover ensures that you don't have to worry about the roof of your microwave being caked in napalmed egg afterwards. A little oil (sprayed then brushed) around the base also means that they clean pretty much instantly. The finished result is a perfectly round "cake" that fits inside a muffin, bun or mini wrap. I tried to "fry" an egg in it, but it seems you have to constantly check on the state, so, IMO, it isn't really worth the hassle.

I saw these being advertised on YouTube so did a search on amazon and yep they have them, I really like boiled eggs but never buy them as I'm absolutely hopeless at taking the shell off and throwing half of it in bin, so i brought one of these and got some eggs and omg the just comes off so easily and the eggs our cooked perfectly every time and it's really handy to put the eggs on in the kitchen and bring the timer into my Lounge and so good to watch the pulsating blue lights so you can see exactly how long they have to cook, yes it's £20 but it's worth every single penny and definitely one of the best gadgets in my kitchen.

I think this is pretty good at timing the boiled eggs so I get to eat them the way I like, hence the 5 stars. I also like the integrated egg piercer

The timings are not short enough for eggs not kept in a frdge - as you are advised by Delia and others not to do! Great shame as lots of features. I have to put it on 20 seconds or more before I put eggs in the water - or if you have a very large egg use the small egg setting. 5 stars for sturdiness as I dropped it this week - and it survived.

Habe mir diesen eierzubeteiter bestellt um mir selbstgemachte egg mc muffins vom grossen M selbstzumachen klappt wunderbar mit dem teil aber auch rührei wird super damit geht vorallem super schnell je nach mikrowelle bei mir sind es 30 sec für 1 ei grösse l. Kann denn eierzubereiter definitiv weiter empfehlen an alle die gerne eier essen oder wie ich diese egg mc muffins :)

I love deviled eggs, but OMG, getting the shells off was always what i dreaded when boiling eggs, but not any more. The little pin hole must make all the difference. Boil the water, add the pricked egg to the water, set the timer and I get perfect eggs every time. Now i can remove the shells with just one hand and the shell comes off in almost one whole piece. What a blessing this device is. I would highly recommend it. This is a kitchen must have!

I've had another Egg McMuffin microwave Egg maker for a few years and always enjoyed using it. However, the lid started to crack recently so I wanted a replacement. I wasn't able to find that specific model, so gave this one a try. With a little experimenting, I found the perfect settings for my microwave (2:15mins on %50 power) for an egg mcmuffin "firm" egg. The unit comes with a "recipe" time guide, but I haven't tried to make any other style of egg yet. It's also very easy to use and clean. Much less moving parts than the other one I have. The eggs are flatter and wider than a traditional egg McMuffin "puck", but it works well. And I much prefer the fast prep & clean up of this model, so that makes up for it. It's also more affordable compared to some other options out there. I recommend!

This little thing is awesome. One egg and tbsp soy milk and 45sec in my Kmart microwave and it’s perfect. Highly recommended!!!
