Reasonable imitation.
While I did read the sizing cautions, and I did order a 3xl which is supposed to be about the same as a U.S. large which I am, it is a little snug. The sleeve straps I just took off and will remove the belt loops for them. The appearance is best described as "shiny" does not resemble too closely an actual military coat but still nice coat, light fabric, shiny appearance and a great price.

Fashionable and comfy!
I got this coat for a trip to Chicago in winter and being from the south that was a near death-wish, but it kept me warm and looks super fashionable in person. Although it comes with some belts that may get lost easily, the coat tail is a nice flair and the collar also stands easily.
