pretty great little gadget.... recipe inside!
these guys are awesome - super easy to use... not the easiest to clean if you let the veggies dry on them but if you wash them off right away or just throw them in some water for a bit, you are good to go.... in case you don't know what you would do with this... here is the basics... two recipes thrown out here) - enjoy!BASICS (1 - mexican style, 2 - italian style)3 - 4 medium size zucchinis, washed1 medium sweet onion, diced2 -3 cloves of garlic, chopped1 can of diced tomatoes (1 - rotel, 2 - italian spiced)1 cup of cheese of choice, shredded (1 - chipotle or cotija or cheddar, 2 - mozzerella and parmesan)meat of choice (1 - chorizo (need to cook first if normal 8 - 10 oz tube), 2 - pepperoni or italian sausage)spices (1 - cumin, oregano, and chili powder, 2 - italian seasoning)Salt and pepper1) spiralize zucchini with skin on over colander and salt liberally - allow tp drain for 20-ish minutes... can squeeze water out or spin it out, just decrease some of the moisture content.2) Saute onion in olive oil until starting to carmelize, add garlic, then spices, then tomatoes and meat. Cook down over higher heat until less liquid. Add zucchini and continue cooking until like pasta in sauce (prob 12-ish minutes) and it starts to soften up a little (but stays "al dente").

Good but doesn't use all of the veggie
I bought this spiral slicer in an effort to reduce pasta in our house- we got it earlier this week, and have tried it 2x. It has some good points to it and a couple of not so good points:Pro: 1)It is small, which several other spiral slicers/spiralizers are not. 2) It also seems sturdy, the plastic is not flimsy, and the metal handles on the sides are very firm. 3) I don't feel like it will break soon. 4) it cuts two different sizes of ribbons, so you don't have to worry about only getting tiny ribbons or only getting big ribbons.Con's: There is only really one con, and that is that this spiralizer doesn't use the whole vegetable! I used Zuccini last night, and about 1.5 inches of Zuccini was left at the end (you have to manually turn it, and then use a cap that is provided to turn the rest, but still, it doesn't push the whole vegetable through). I hate wasting that much of a perfectly good vegetable, but feel silly keeping an inch of a zucchini in the fridge. In total- it is a good little gadget, and helpful if you are not sure that you want to spirals more veggies, but I am not sure I would purchase this one again.

Handy, compact, and useful
I bought this after wanting to replace some carbs with healthier options. So after seeing all the food blogs raving about zucchini pastas, I knew I had to get on board. The design is very compact (which makes me like this more than the free-standing spiralizer which would take up a lot of space in the kitchen. I like how it has two sides (one for thin spirals and one for thicker spirals), although in my opinion, they are pretty similar in size.I only used this on a zucchini, but it sliced it beautifully. My only complaint (and I am not sure if this is a design flaw or if all spiralizers at like this) is that in the end, I always end up with a 2 inch conical nub that I have to fish out and julienne myself. I wish there was an attachment that would push the rest of the vegetable through without injuries. Also, the free cleaning brush was really handy. Since the thing is covered in blades, it was nice to just use the brush to clean everything and not ruin kitchen sponges or risk injuring my hands.

The price was right, it's sturdy, and I can spiralize a zucchini in about 30 seconds
I'm very happy with this product. The price was right, it's sturdy, and I can spiralize a zucchini in about 30 seconds. I've found the noodles that I make are actually quite good for use in my "fake carb" spaghetti. Also, I've noticed that it's easy to clean but only if you do shortly after using. If you let it sit out over night, then it's going to be more difficult to clean because little bits of skin become stuck between the blades. That doesn't really make sense to hold against the product, though -- I've found this to be the case with nearly any kind of utensil with blades. It fits nicely in a drawer or cupboard.I've shown it to anyone that I thought might care, and probably a few that didn't care. I also ended up buying a second for my mother.

Total Rip Off
First of all, there are no real instructions.Secondly, I tried a carrot like shown. It was much too hard and just shredded tiny bits. After 5 minutes I gave up, got out my cheese grater and got better results than I was getting with this. The zucchini went slightly better, but nothing like the pictures. Flat, stuck together, short ribbons, and I still had to put about 1/4 of it in the middle on the cheese grater because it got too thin to spiral. The carrot stained it, and the weird bit with the spike in it doesn't seem to be useful at all.Basically, if you have a cheese grater, you already own a superior product for shredding veggies. And no, a cheese grater won't make veggie noodles, but then, neither will this thing.

Must have kitchen accessory
I think this is a great product. I already have my family trying to get me to order them one after telling them about it. I ordered it specifically to replace noodles with zucchini noodles to cut down on carbs. But it also adds a different texture and appeal to salads and other dishes. I saw some negative reviews about use on tougher vegetables such as carrots but that's an easy fix. I imagine a lot of it is user error, but if you steam carrots (I use an easy microwave steamer) to soften them even a little it works just as easy as it does squash or zucchini. Great kitchen accessories to add a little pizzazz to meals or replace noodles with a great tasting healthy alternative.
