Crazy great value for superb cinema shooting
I use this camera primarily to shoot TV/web commercials and interviews, and it is PHENOMENAL. I came thiiiiiiissss close to buying the BMPCC4K, but there were a few factors that ultimately drove me to get the Z Cam E2: - You can connect and sync multiple Z Cam E2 units, making multi-camera shoots way easier to execute. - The Z Cam E2 can be remotely controlled via the iPhone app, or over ethernet from ANY computer through a WEB BROWSER. That effectively turns your laptop into a huge focus monitor with complete real-time control over your cameraโs settings. - DUAL NATIVE ISO!! At ISO 500 and at 2500, the Z Cam E2 gets crystal clear, noiseless images. Itโs both versatile and excellent in low-light. - The color science on the BMPCC4K is unquestionably great, but it tends to lean towards red in shadows, making it difficult to color correct in line with many other camera platforms. In shoots involving several different makes/models of cameras, the Z Cam E2 makes color correction in post just that much easier.

Incredible
I bought it initially to complement my other cameras (and I have quite a few) for the unique 4K 120p no-crop (h265 at 300Mbps). It is honestly so good that it became my A-Cam!! All my workflow is ProRes which is great because this little beast does it internally. Get yourself a Metabones x.64 and you're just 1.2x crop to FF. Insane!

Too good to be true? well for once, it is.
I have had 0 issues. It performs better than the BM4k and isnt awkward shaped. GS is really the only issue but is easily solved. The Slow motion is ridiculous... and the price. I stumbled across this camera randomly while browsing BH. The specs of the camera compared to the price seemed fake. But it was B&H, so I decided to try it.... We were using Sony Cameras (fs5, fs7, A7riii and a9), but have since switched out to these for video. (kept the slrs for pics). But the actually quality of the image far outweighs what you pay for with this, even with cheap glass. The support for this camera is beyond superior to any of I have encountered before. The Owner of the company himself will often provide support as well. CONSTANT improvements with updates. (yes it keeps getting better)... yes... they are even free. When I bought the camera, it "only" could do 120fps in 4k... now, 160. Prores raw, HDR, etc.... 16 stops... its just silly. Worth it? its a no brainer.... They are even coming out in October with 6k and 8k versions... The 8k flagship one is ONLY $6k.... and if you own an e2 already... they shave off $500 and so on. Its like having a good friend for a company, which rarely happens... I havent seen one person who was wronged by them either.

Buyer beware
Z cam sells cheap cameras that are ok when they work... but when you have a problem and it is outside the return window their warranty is useless. I purchase a Z cam from B&H, unfortunately after the return window had closed it started malfunctioning such that no matter what button you pressed it would just start taking video and not allow you to do anything to control it. I thought well at least I'm still under warranty - silly me. The warranty you get doesn't provide you a service center, so when I contacted Z cam directly the said to contact the seller... well the seller said contact Z cam... so when something stops working they are worthless. So think long and hard if you want to risk 2 grand on a hope and prayer that it doesn't stop working.

Superb value, great use of my Micro 4/3 Lens collection
I had the JVC 300 4k Camera and generally, it was OK, but frustrating, also the build quality was poor. This was purchased after considering all the Blackmagic options, which were ultimately rejected because of previous experience of the Mini Cinema camera. However having a substantial collection of M4/3 lenses, which were in danger of being superseded by my purchase of a Nikon Z 7, having abandoned the Olympus OMD EM1. This, very substantial, 'brain' has solved my problems. It is very flexible, not too big and in multicam shoots makes a great A Cam. The flexibility of hanging bits (microphones, Zoom recorders, etc) onto a cage and then sticking a handle on for handheld stuff is superb. Cageless it's small enough for a Gimbal and particularly with the tiny Olympus 14-42 makes a great option for discreet setups, for example filming Concerts or Plays, something which I do regularly. Amazingly the APP actually works and in fact makes the ability to control the camera remotely an absolute breeze. Great little camera and although the poor man's RED it defies the low price.
