Gio Andrade is the gorgeous, greek good CEO and head of his branch of the Andrade family. When his father died, there was no question he would head the family business and protect those linked to him by blood. One problem, the company his father had created was bankrupt and the family had split in more ways than one. Julie Bennett was in New York working to save her father's furniture business. With her mother sick with cancer and the furniture company about to financially default, Julia's solution was to attempt to sell her jewelry designs to the jewelers of New York, and so make the money necessary to save the family business. In the meantime, working night shifts as a security guard for the Andrades corporation paid her bills and allowed her to send money home. When Gio and Julie first meet it is like a scene from the Keystone Cops! It is after hours, he is not dressed in a suit but in sweats, and she is about to leave for the day. As she is checking why one of the doors in the executive suite is open, she finds Gio trying to break into a desk. Her reaction is defensive and this meeting ends with Gio's forehead sporting a huge lump after Julie slams him with a lamp in order to defend herself. And this is only the beginning of their tumultuous relationship! If you are a fan of Ruth Cardello's novels, you will be delighted by this book. It is funny, emotional, steamy and most of all entertaining. If you have never read her novels, this is a great beginning for you. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars, was due to our h giving in to fast. She was spunky, strong and honorable to a fault. But, she caved to fast and that bothered me. She did redeem herself and I loved the near ending when she stood up for herself. Our H is arrogant and closes himself off. How our h bring him around is well worth the read and their banter is spot on. I enjoyed how the author brought out all the personalities of the brother's and I can't wait for their stories. There is very hot descriptive lovemaking, but I did feel a connection to this couple so it seemed right. Romance builds slowly which is what I want in a story and we do get an HEA too. No cliffhanger for our couple, but of course you are curious how everything with the other family member's work out. There were more than a few twists and suspenseful moments and I would recommend this story. I am not going into the blurb, because many people have explained it better than I can, just what you may discover reading it. (ljb)

This is the first book in the spinoff series stemming from the Legacy Collection. George (Gio) Andrades is a bitter man. The oldest of four brothers, he heads the company that his father founded. He is a handsome, billionaire, seen with a different woman constantly. He loves them and leaves them. Work is the way he copes with everything. Julia Bennett is a very pretty, sexy, but naïve, small town girl. She came to New York to try and sell her jewelry line. She wants to help save her family business back in Rhode Island, Wanting to work on her jewelry all day, she takes a night job as a security person at the firm that Gio Andrades heads. They meet when she wallops him with a lamp, thinking that he is an intruder. The naïve innocence of Julia, combined with the world weary attitude of Gio, lead you to keep wanting them to work their issues out. They make a cute couple, and Julia brings out the best in Gio. He falls for her right from the beginning, but he is holding back. She, you can tell, falls for him hard, but she too is holding back. They work things out. There are quite a few references to the other Andrades, and to the Corisi part of the family. And there are references to the bet that the women had at the end of the last legacy book. But you don't have to read the Legacy collection to enjoy this book. There are some really steamy scenes, but nothing really hard core. Julia is kind of funny, she does not have a problem saying what she feels most of the time, and there are some scenes, that are typical brother teasing. The end of the book does let us know why Gio is so bitter, and sets up nicely for the next books.

I generally liked this book, although parts of it reminded me of some other books I've read. The rich millionaire who is a taciturn, controlling alpha man and falls in love with the poor girl from the other side of the tracks is a pretty common theme in the romance genre. Gio was an AH and just really grumpy. I really liked Julia a lot. She was open, honest and patient but she was no pushover either, she demanded that Gio respect her and she was willing to walk away when he wouldn't open up and let her into his heart. The plot is pretty predictable but the story is well written and the characters are well developed. Julia was really hilarious at times. So why only three stars? The plot really isn't original. Even though this is a new series, you probably need to read the Legacy series since several of the characters in the book are from that series. Since I haven't read that series, I was kind of lost in several parts of the book, particularly when Gio goes to his cousins wedding and particularly in the Epilogue. Second, while the story doesn't end in a cliffhanger, per se, it does end abruptly and kinda leaves the reader hanging, something that I didn't know when I read the synopsis. I prefer books, even in a series, to be stand alone books so I can figure out what's going on, even if I haven't read the previous books. Anyway, I think I'm going to read the next book in this series, because I'd like to know what happens to Gio and Julia, but not sure I'll read the Legacy series.

I am so excited for the Andrades. I am a huge fan of Ruth's Billionaire series. All of the characters are so funny and full of life and love. Now, we get to meet the extended family of the Andrades. Gio is a typical bad boy billionaire with a huge chip on his shoulder regarding his family. He has pretty much closed himself off from any sort of relationship. Julia is a sweet, caring, trusting girl who's trying to find her way in New York City. She's all about family and gets entangled with this man who will surely break her heart. I really liked this story. There were a lot of laughs, provided by Julia's open personality. She often speaks before thinking, and it was hilarious. I loved all her interactions with Gio's family and friends. It was so great to see Maddy again. She continues to stir the pot and be the source of mischief in her family. I get the feeling we haven't see anything yet, when it comes to her interference. Gio and Julia had an instant attraction, despite all the reasons they shouldn't be together. I think she was sent to save him from himself, and she had a heck of time trying to do just that. From the introductions that we get of Gio's brothers, I think we should be prepared for some very intriguing books to come.

I came across this book in one of my book groups on Facebook and was interested in the blurb, so I decided to read it. The book was great and I really enjoyed reading about the main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Gio, because I love seeing character development. In the beginning of the book, I really didn't like Gio all that much. I hated how he thought he was entitled to anything in life and I appreciated when Julia turned him down. But by the end of the novel, I admired his character and wanted to know more! Julia was an interesting character to read about. She was strong at times, but many times she was shy and soft-spoken. What I liked about her was that she knew what she wanted in life, but despite Gio not wanting what she wanted, she gave him a chance and never abandoned him when he needed a friend. And she never lost sight in what she wanted. She's a fighter and will do anything for the people who she loves. All-in-all, this was an interesting and fun novel. I liked the characters and the plot was a fun! I look forward to reading more from this author and highly recommend this book to everyone! As this is my very first review, I have to say that I have enjoyed this book tremendously. This book had all my favorite components of a good story in it. It had the intensity, the alpha male, the strong woman, connection to other characters in other books, happy ever after and lets not forget the great sex. No good book should be without it. I loved the emotional journey that the characters went on and how each person is some how woven into the story.The story moved along at a good pace. At no time was I bored or skipped pages to get to the end. It made me go and research the author and now I am so going to buy all her books in this and other series. It is a great book and start of a series and I would recommend it for those who wants a break from the paranormal type books.

This was a pretty good freebie. It definitely got me interested. Although there were some parts that got me...arrggh...they were followed by some really good responses. Julia was really a great character and had some great characteristics. She was what I would want to be, but probably won't ever stop the worry-wart part of my brain. I loved how she lived and her personality was good. Gio though, he definitely got on my nerves quite a few times. He's a good character and I loved the ending. He had some stuff to get through and it may have been rough (but that's what makes him human) but the result was great. This was a surprisingly good and a steal. I would definitely like to read more in this series and get to know the other brothers better. I'm also gonna have a look-see about the other fam, it just has to be a series in itself. A great teaser freebie (it gets you interested) and good for a read anytime. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the book and the storyline. It's not only about love but about family, disappointments and a hidden truth. Here the girl (Julia) is a down-to-earth and honest woman who wants to success by selling her own jewellery and isn't lured by money. Basically, she doesn't care about how rich is the guy. And Gio is a millionaire and hot businessman who doesn't know how to handle his feelings for Julia. We find him struggling with a new situation for him since all what he was used to do to sleep with a woman doesn't work now. Definitely I'm looking forward to read more about the Andrades family.

I have read all of Ruth Cardello's books. With each book I have read I fall more and more in love with the story. I loved her Legacy Series. And now I love The Andrades Series. You will recognize the name Andrades from the Legacy Series. Trust me when I say this series is just as hot as her Legacy Series. Gio oh what a man he is. Sexy, Strong, and knows what he wants. I love how he is around Julia. Of course I love what happens when he is with his brothers. Julia man she is one strong woman. I love how she never gives up on selling her jewelery. I love how she doesn't back down from Gio. These two people were a match made in heaven. Oh and before I forget as if Ruth would let us forget that some of her Legacy Series Characters are in this book as well.

Ist zwar wieder ne typische kleines Mädchen trifft reichen Typen Story, aber echt so süß geschrieben, das ich es kaum aus der Hand legen konnte! Also wirklich empfehlenswert! Es hat auch ein richtiges Ende, wobei die Story dann mit den Brüdern wohl weitergeht. Man muss aber die anderen Bücher nicht unbedingt lesen!

This is yet another great book from Ruth Cardello, I have read and really enjoyed all her books. I always end up thinking that the latest hero is my favourite - then she tops him in her next book! What makes her leading ladies and men so great is that not one of them is perfect, but you love them all. Please hurry up with the next book so I can really get to know one of Gio's brothers better.
