Well made, sturdy, but still need a bit of tweaking
Straight forward, it's a well, very slim, great ergonomic design unit. The delivery was so quick by Amazon Prime, I had a bit of fun time to play with it before game day.PROS:Initial usage, the rotation of the wheels are a tad stiff. After 10 minutes of continuous usages, playing around, the wheels became more loosen, and easier to turn. Each click dead on with the number when I held in my hand. If I used it in my pocket, or fumbling around with other things while turning, I tend to over turn beyond the click, which leads to the con side of thing. The letters on the metal may not be raised/stamped, but the printed letters are very easy to read, including the numbers on the wheels.Sturdy is the key. Dropped it a few times while handling other things in chaotic dugouts, fields, and transportation, but still work like it's brand new out of the packaging. Made in Japan..go figures.Ergonomically and slim designed, but not for smaller hands. My scorekeeper is a petite woman, and when she's holding the indicator, she feels like she's holding a calculator. In an average man's hand, it fits perfectly, conforms to the fingers and palm quite neatly, and much less cumbersome than the larger plastic models the fields' umpires were using. Funny how they double checked with mine after hearing my loud clicks sounding off in the distant.CONS:Like most, the Strike and Ball wheels are on the wrong side. Left hand indicate ball, right hand indicate strike. A bit backward, but it's adaptable.Turning of the wheels can cause a user to over-turn slightly. If a person drink too much coffee, or on the verge of a nervous breakdown during game time, like me, where the fingers are constantly moving, well, that can be a problem. The wheels only move in one direction. If the user accidentally over-turn beyond the click..yikes. There's no way to turn it back. The user has to completely turn it all the way around to get to the proper number. The numbers of Strikes and Outs are a tad odd to go all the way to "3" before resetting back to "0". However, I can understand why. If there's an argument break out, the last called numbers will be a great asset to a forgetful person, like me. There were plenty of those events during my days of coaching/umpiring. Lots of heated discussion between parents, coaches, and umpires, especially at the fields with the lack of scorekeepers, we became quite forgetful on what counts which had been made. It's a great tool for T-Ball and Farm's division tracking, but not for minor and upper divisions. You may need to find the 2 (strikes) 3 (balls) 2 (outs) tools. The lettering will fade/scratch off quickly, since they're either painted on, or glued on. Not quite sure. However, use a bit of Sally's Hard As Nail clear coating for those lettering once you've received it, you're golden. I don't want to add the coating to the number, since it will clog up the wheels and make a mess of things. The metal housing will protect the numbers. Just make sure to reset everything to "0" before placing it into your bag for transport. I store mine in a foam layered box with all of my other sensitive tools during rough transports/handling.Overall, very happy with the investment.

Too Light
This is a replacement to the indicator I bought probably a decade ago.... loved that one and used it for a loooonnnngg time until the numbers finally wore off. Ordered this one, and it will be fine, but it seems more like aluminum than steel. Much lighter than my previous indicator which TBH I'm not a fan of. We'll see after my next game if I'm more of a fan.

Great tool, works as it should
This steel indicator felt very solid out of the package, and the wheels have a nice feel and click in place well. The only improvement I would make would be to put BALL on the left and STRIKE on the right, but other than that it works great. Definitely worth the extra few bucks over the plastic ones.

Bad Buy!
DO NOT BUY!!! Indicator arrived with two numbers only half in black and none of the indicator headings (Strike, Balls, etc.) were blacked as shown. Indicators wheels were extremely stiff to turn.

Best Brand Indicator
I have been an umpire for 23 years. I will not use any other brand indicator
