I must say once I began reading the book. I was not able to put it down, it gave me insight on how important Command Master Chiefs are to the Navy. To read the vision of each MCPON knowing that each of them were able to endure the challenges to implement policies that would help Sailors and their families. They were able to keep pushing until they got results they desired not excuses. Furthermore, to get the perspective of the wives as well sheds light on how important it is to educate the spouses of our Sailors both juniors and seniors alike. This ensures we keep our force strong and alert by having the full support of the families. The families are able to see and hear things we are incapable of seeing because of our positions. I will be reading again. I pray someone pick up were she left off.

This was a good read on how the Navy was impacted at the senior enlisted level. If your ever interested in the position of senior leadership in the military at the enlisted level, this book will give you some insights on the type of decisions and leadership that is expected of you and how performances of earlier MCPONs got us to where we are today.Enjoy

This book will open your eyes. Easy to see that the exact same issues and complaints the Navy had in the 60's and 70's are still prevalent in this day and age. Astonishing to see ..the more things have changed..the more they remained the same.
