Thank goodness for this reusable filtration system! It has already saved me money and time and filters my pool for weeks as opposed to days like the disposable filters. The only drawback is first installing the puffball filter as each puffball is not contained within a mesh bag or anything so it was rather comical to install. Same for when it’s time to wash them. I think a good upgrade would be a small mesh bag to put the puffballs in before using the filter. That’s my only complaint. I’m an environmentalist and a mom so anything that saves me time, money and or resources is ok by me. Would recommend.

I was skeptical of this product considering it looked like a free floating filter and a bunch of cotton balls AND came with no directions. Luckily, I installed it correctly (I would install it with your skimmer turned on so it sucks the black filter to the bottom, then dump the "cotton balls" in). A little background on our pool situation...I am its caretaker, so when I was sick for a week I was unable to clean it, and my husband didn't do it...After recovering we went on vacation for 2 weeks and I didn't have time to deal with it before we left. 3 weeks of scorching hot temperatures, not being cleaned, shocked, or even chlorine treatments and we came back to a pool that looked more like a pond! The disposable filters were killing the pocketbook so I started looking for other options. This filter, along with another reusable filter, copious amounts of shock with algaecide, and a whole lot of elbow grease and my pool is FINALLY back to normal! The only reason I docked a star was because of the lack of instructions and cleaning each ball can be tedious, but it works very well and saves a ton on money!

Paper filters got dirty and stopped the pump from working efficiently within a week. This set has worked great, and lasts for weeks before I have to wash them. Other reviewers complained that this set is not enough, or that it's impossible to get them in the filter cannister. I had no issues.Some things that help:Buy 2 if you want to swap them out seamlessly. Wet them before you put them in the filter, it helps them fit better. Do not put them in a mesh bag in the filter - my Intex pump did not like that at all! DO use a mesh bag to run them through the wash. Before washing, swish them around in a bucket to remove the yuck, then plop them in the mesh and run it through the wash.I do have a problem with my kids' long hair getting trapped in the sponge, along with what looks like lint. It's difficult to clean because it keeps trying to rip. Not sure how to fix that, so I'm careful with it.

These turned out surprisingly great! I used a mesh laundry bag to keep them together so they're easier to take in and out and clean. They worked awesome and saved me a ton compared to paper filters. I plan to order more.

I installed this filter 12 hours ago. My pool went from cloudy to almost perfectly clear, in 12 hours. I was diligent about cleaning and changing previous pleated filter but couldn't get the water clear. I even tried water clarifiers with no luck. I'm ordering a second set right now just to have a back up.

I was skeptical that this product could effectively replace my paper filter for my above ground pool. Not skeptical anymore. The product really works and the ability to place the cloth balls in a mesh laundry bag and wash with my regular laundry is just so easy!! Even though I was skeptical whether or not these would work, I went out on a limb and bought two sets and I'm sure glad I did. When one set is ready for the laundry, I have a fresh clean set to put in the filter basket. Highly recommend and if I could give it more stars, I would.

The cotton ball like filter does a fantastic job and clearing up cloudy water. However, the Cotton ball like filter floats freely in the pump which causes the cotton balls to be pulled down can compressed causing the filter to loose pressure causing poor water circulation in the pool. When I decompress the cotton balls out turn the pump on, a large burst of cloudy water is released into the pool. Great idea, poor design. The cotton balls need a holding container to prevent them from bogging down the pump.

I don't usually write reviews but after communicating with the seller and them seeing nothing wrong with the description, I figured I would post a review.I was under the impression that the line in the description "This set will replace your traditional paper A/C cartridge" meant that it was the entire set of balls and the mesh filter that is needed to replace the traditional filter, that is not the case! This is only the balls and the seller doesn't even sell the Mesh filter, if used without the mesh filter it will not filter out anything other than some algae.$25 is rather expensive for just replacement polyethylene balls when FLowXtreme makes the same product with a mesh filter included for under $10
