Nice suit for fitness swimming
I am a lifelong and ex-competitive swimmer, so I've had my fair-share of suits over the years. I was looking for something to swim in at my local gym. I hate jammers because they catch on my knees, and I was looking for something with a tad bit more modesty than a brief. I ordered a size up as I am wearing these more for fitness than any kind of truely competitive swimming, and the fit is snug but not tight. One thing I especially appreciate (and I've never had a suit like this in my 20+ year of swimming) is that the liner is really more of an internal brief, like running shorts - and I appreciate the extra support provided by this design. I swim in a heavily chlorinated pool and I've worn these now 10-15 times, rinsed them out in the shower after and there has been little-to-no fading to speak of. I'm 5'10'' and the leg reaches about 1/3 of the way down my thigh.

Exactly what I was looking for
I bought these for the sole purpose of wearing while soaking in the hot tub outside during winter. I had specific requirements for this use, and these met every expectation. They had to be made of a material that didn't hold much water - CHECK. Not only does that keep me from leaving puddles all the way across the floor when I go inside, but also means a shorter drying time. They had to be snug, but not tight - CHECK. My regular trunks were quite baggy, and cooling by evaporation was a big shock when I moved just right and touched the chilled fabric. These stay close to my skin and don't have any loose folds to form "supercooled" spots. They had to not be a Speedo-type brief - CHECK. I don't really mind Speedos, and the minimal fabric would have been useful for the aforementioned requirements, but they have a bad image here in the US. It's acceptable for a competitive swimmer to wear them (in other words, not me), but they're otherwise considered taboo, at least by all the people I've ever spoken with about it. Perhaps that's partly a holdover from the puritanical attitudes we still cling to here. I think it's also partly due to the fact that people who wear them, competitive swimmers aside, tend to be the I'm-too-sexy-for-my-trunks type of men whose attitudes are repulsive, regardless of how sexy they may or may not be. The square leg "boxer-brief" look of these trunks is a nice compromise between trunks and more minimal swimwear. I haven't owned these long enough to comment on their durability, but so far, I'm very pleased!

This fits to size and is very comfortable
I swim three times a week and I’m very pleased with Tyre products. They fit well, and are very comfortable and priced right. The elastic lasts for a few years, which is very acceptable.

Good Fit
Sizing chart was on target. Arrived quickly. Product is of good quality. Fabric is heavy and durable. Will buy again if necessary.

NEW DESIGN IS A PRODUCT FAILURE
This product has been redesigned and unfortunately the newer design/structure/fit is an unwearable failure. My purchase history shows I've ordered 14 of these square-cut suits from Amazon dating back to July of 2012--about 1 per year, with each lasting approx. 10-12 months, swimming 2-3 times per week. Eventually they lose elasticity and fade, but I would expect this from chlorine exposure. The latest purchase shows a redesign with a double-seam center instead of a single central seam. (see pics of a size 36 old style vs. a size 38 new style which is actually smaller) Also, the side length is now shorter and flared out and the fabric feels thicker/heavier. To their credit, TYR replaced the scratchy interior tag (which I always cut out before wearing) with a printed label and the "TYR" logo is now stitched instead of printed. Unfortunately, the net effect of the redesign is a MUCH smaller and tighter suit. I wore the new one once and it left red marks on my waist and thighs despite heeding the warning of other buyers and ordering a larger size. Also, the new suit has MUCH less room for the male anatomy making this product redesign completely uncomfortable and a huge failure. This will be returned, and I'll be looking at another brand. What a shame.

Great, size up was slightly too big for me
I wear a 31" inseam in very fitted things, but based on the reviews I sized up and got 34" for these. They fit fine and certainly not worth returning, but if I were to order again I'd get 32". The 34" certainly is comfortable with plenty of room, but it does just ballon just a bit when jumping into the pool, etc., it's clear I have a bit too much room.

The sizing is ridiculous!
I am 6'4" and I weigh 170 lbs. I normally take a 33" waist. I thought I could comfortably order size 34, but no! Then I tried 36 and again, no! I ended up in a size 40 and I honestly could not take anything smaller. Now, I have worked in fashion for over 30 years and I am really good at fit, this is an absolute joke. I know the economics involved so i am at a loss. Considering, that there is a disclaimer that states that this item has a very high return rate, so check the size chart which I did, Tyr must be in utter denial unless this is some private label thing that Amazon is doing, because the price of this is 40% less on Amazon than it is directly from Tyr. There is a myriad of swim trunks available on Amazon that are imported from China that have Asian sizing, which is much smaller than your average US / European sizing. I just didn't expect that from Tyr. So, honestly, if you are ordering these, you may want to order several sizes because you are probably not going be the size you think you are, regardless of the size chart. That being said, the shorts are perfectly fine, once you settle on the correct size:).

After single use the fabric starts to fade and deteriorate

It was tight in the legs soI went up a size, and now a great fit. Drawstring makes it work. lining in front. Only warn a few times, hoping it lasts as long as others experience.
