Polyvine Decorator's Varnish Satin Finish Quart

I wall papered by step risers and needed to prevent scuffing and this added a nice coating to do just that. It is a bit more glossy than I wanted so I may add a top coat of the dead flat.

Have not used on furniture yet. Have used with crafts.Painted ornaments works fine. On decoupage pieces done with regular decoupage paste works fine. Do not us on pieces done with the plastic wrap iron on method it bubbles.

This gives painted furniture a beautiful finish. Not quite the same as wax but very close. I recently painted my son's bedroom furniture with chalk paint and like to soft, smooth feel and look of a waxed finish. However, my son is 5 so I wanted something that would give the furniture a little more protection incase of a spill or anything else a 5 year old can do to furniture. It was very easy to apply (much easier than waxing). The finish had a slight sheen but not too much. I didn't want a shiny look as I thought it might cheapen the appearance. Overall I think it the pieces turned out great, and a little goes a long way. Hard to tell in pictures but I think you can see that they are not shiny.

I used this varnish to protect the wallpaper around the sink and the toilet for my hair salon. It didn’t change the look and the texture of the wallpaper whatsoever. Very easy to apply. Definitely use it again if I have another opportunity.

Used this varnish on my wallpaper border in bath and kitchen as well as other areas to retain color, protect from moisture, grime and cleaning.

Small bottle and doesn't go very far. Enough to protect our wallpaper backsplash and the walls surrounding our wallpaper wall surrounding our vanity. That's it for 35 bucks. No cheap but, seems to have done the job.

I did some research and found this product. I agree it is a very nice varnish. I will purchase again. I put this on some chairs I redid and they turned out very nice. I used it over chalk paint and there is no discoloration.

Available in a range of finishes, great value for money. Very quick drying - dependent upon ambient temperature, but figures on the pack have been accurate. Easy to use and the clean up is simple as you just rinse brushes/rollers with water.

This varnish was applied easily.I used over egg shell to provide a durable finish on a table and the end result was lots of brown ‘ smears’ and discolouring. Not sure why but really dissspointed.

I have a wallpapered bathroom, used this, x2 coats, wall paper fine for 10 years, non in the up stairs flat cleaned his cistern and in doing so loosened the wing nuts on the bottom so flooded my bathroom, he also refused to pay the £500 excess on my insurance claim…..but that’s another story 😡 So redecorate, re paper and I bought this for the decorator to use once he’d papered. Tip, make sure you clean it up asap if you spill it and go over the spill three times, it may look clean but days later you will find rock hard specks it your shower tray 🤦🏼‍♂️ It’s great through and works well
