The O2 Hurricane Special Edition 220+ MPH is a good, cordless, easy to use, reuseable source of presurized air.
For a while now I have been looking for a hand held system to take the place of canned air. One might ask, "Why not use one of the air compressors that you own?" If I was always in my workshop using my pressure controlled units that would be fine, but since I do not have an air system running throughout my home, even using my little portable air compressor is a problem. When I need to clean out dirt and dust from different pieces of mechanical and electronic equipment canned air was handy. However canned air added an unneeded expense and I was constantly running out of it at the most inopportune time, even when buying it by the case. Now that I have located the O2 Hurricane Special Edition 220+ MPH and it's unit price at the time was what I considered reasonable, I did not hesitate in buying it. In the evaluations I saw about this unit, some of the people were complaining that the air pressure produced by the older units were not as strong as the canned air. As far as the older units are concerned I do not know. Quite frankly, I feel that the pressure coming out of canned air is too strong especially when using it around delicate pieces. Canned air also leaves condensation after using it only for a few seconds. I feel that the O2 Hurricane puts out just enough air to safely blow out everything that I work on. From printers, (Both laser and inkjet), copiers, ten-keys, typewriters, computers, keyboards, mice, VCR and/or DVD recorder/players, turntables, cassette players, etc, a little air from the O2 Hurricane and I could immediately run a test to see if dirt had been or is the problem. I do not have to worry about the O2 Hurricane causing damage to the equipment I am working on and I could test the equipment immediately after using it. If you are looking for a cordless (When in use), hand held, simply to use, reusable piece of equipment to replace canned air, the O2 Hurricane Special Edition 220+ MPH, in my opinion, is what you are looking for. I am very happy with my unit so far. It is doing a great job in helping to maintain the equipment I work upon and I would recommend it to anyone in need of portable compressed air. I will add further information concerning this unit, if I find it to be pertinent.

Awesome alternative to canned air!
I was getting tired of using compressed air cans, as they're expensive, terrible for the environment, and just a pain in the ass to use. This unit, while a bit pricey, is 100% worth it to replace them forever. First off it's made by an American company, which I'm always happy to support, and second off, it's just good at its job. The blowing power was perfect for my needs, and I loved that it was always consistent, instead of dropping off super quick like canned air did. The unit is pretty loud, which is the main drawback I found (I definitely can't use it at night), but otherwise I'm super happy with my purchase. For those on the fence over the price, remember that it's covered by a lifetime warranty! Meaning you buy this thing once, and you'll never have to buy a compressed air can again. If you're a frequent user of compressed air (like myself), this will save you a lot of money in the long-term. Highly recommended!

Good but Not Perfect
Good product. The Hurricane blows fast enough air to compete with canned dusters. My critiques: 1. It's a bit plasticky feeling. Something more robust would be nice given the price. 2. It's 2026. The unit should have a USB-C port for charging. 3. It should be disclosed more that the unit is loud. The noise is understandable given the motorized design, but the marketing avoids mentioning it.Note: This is a short-term review. God forbid, but if it breaks in 3 months, I'll try to come back to update.

It doesn't have a pin-point focus of air like canned air
I purchased this item in June of 2015. Now, a little more than a year later I wish I hadn't. At first it worked great but as time went by it got weaker and weaker. Now it won't hold a charge for more than a day and still won't charge completely. You can get more air flow from a cat sneeze that this compressed air system now. It came highly touted and I thought I was making a smart investment; I was wrong. I would not advise buying this compressed air system at all. In theory is sounds great but in the working world it's not as great as they make it out to be.

Works great for reloading and gun cleaning
Update 08-06-2022I have been using this air blower for almost 3 years to reduce my canned air usage. I use it on a regular basis (several times a week) for gun cleaning and reloading cleanup. It has worked flawlessly the whole time. If I’m cleaning several guns at the same time it does get fairly warm but does not effect the performance. Before purchasing the blower I was using 2 1/2 to 3 cases of air a year and have reduced that to less than a case a year. The blower has more than paid for itself.Highly recommend it!!=================================I purchased this to replace most of my canned air needs. I use it primarily for my reloading needs and gun cleaning. It is a little on the noisy side but since I use it in max bursts of roughly 60 to 90 seconds it’s not a real issue. It works as well for cleaning up after a reloading sessions and gun cleaning as the canned air I was using previously. I was using a little under 2 cans of air a month and in the almost 3 months I’ve been using it I have used less than 1 can of air.I don’t use it for cleaning computers or other items so I can’t speak to the long term usages issues others have listed.

Take the best reviews with a grain of salt.
I've been in IT since 1995... I'm that guy who knows how to keep ancient computers alive and can seems to keep the hardware going now matter how much it wants to die. Needless to say, I slay dust bunnies on a regular basis.I normally prefer canned air, it's convenient, does the job (usually) and it's become a staple of the industry since the early 90's.I use a data vac at the office, I have two of them actually... one with the massive canister for large printers etc and a smaller one that I use mostly for blowing out stuff and rarely for vaccuming.I don't like those because they are big, bulky and gets hot quickly.Thought about getting a small blower like this for a while, debating on spending for the rechargeable battery or going cheap and getting a hand held unit that had to be plugged in like the data vac...Finally got this. And to some degree I'm underwhelmed. I really don't think the air coming out of this is 220+ mph... more like 150It's enough to move around the big bunnies and blow off light dust, but you're still going to have to go behind with a cloth or something and get the long-term surface dust. Still given it's got the power you'd get from a can of air after that first solid shot, it's not bad at all.I paid $90 for it, honestly if it last a good long time I'll consider it worth it, but as it stands it doesn't feel like it's worth $50.Still it doesn't do a bad job. I wonder about the reviewers who said it blew away everything and especially the guy who said he used this thing for 3+ hours when he got it, I used it for maybe 20 minutes and it was so warm in my hand from the motor that I had to stop.Still it's convenient, and if it holds half the charge the reviews say it will be very handy indeedI find it funny that they demonstrate it's power by blowing water with it and the first thing the insert says is "do not blow water with this"makes me want to do it just to see if I can duplicate the results of the photos (though I'm cynically going to say "probably not")UPDATE:So a day later, I work on my main computer, replacing out the power supply, Between yesterday (after full charge) and today I've used it maybe 45 minute solid... it's already running slower and blowing at half the speed.Examined the computer from deep inside (as I was swapping out the power supply) and I see that it left a layer of dust on everything and did not really blow anything clean... under decent light it looks like it didn't do much with my keyboard either. Honestly I'm very disappointed in this product, it's extremely underwhelming.

Excellent substitute for Canned Air - Much safer works longer
I previously measured the Hurricane Special Edition and did a review using instruments that I had. For improved accuracy, I purchased a PRM FMDFA15T direct reading Rotameter (1-15 CFM range). That unit allows the CFM to be read directly, but because it has an Adjustment Valve and Right Angle connector I was concerned that it was not adequate and probably caused restriction. I purchased a PRM FMDFG25 Rotameter that is a much larger unit (1 -15CFM range) that is 10 inches long and about 2 inches square. It has 1 inch diameter straight thru connections. Using this new Rotameter produced major improvement in readings. I returned the earlier Rotameter that had serious limitations for air duster measurements. The Hurricane 2 Special Edition Nozzle diameter is .525 inches = .0438 feet. The Nozzle Area is .2165 square inches = .0015 square feet. Velocity in Ft/Min x Nozzle Area in Square Feet = CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute). The total airflow measured using the new Rotameter is 15.0 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute). The nozzle velocity is 10000 Feet /Minute = 166.67 Feet/Second = 113.64 Miles/Hour. These are excellent results and much higher than typical canned air. This result is also higher than the 13.4 value that the manufacturer had measured by a consultant lab.I also measured the force at 1 inch from a precision scale = 60 grams. With a Lifetime Warranty, this unit is an excellent value and delivers superior performance.

As effective as blowing air yourself
Lasted for almost two years before it finally stopped working. This product is not as good as compressed air. Don't fall for the claims of "220+ MPH Special Edition" name, it's all marketing hype.It can't match the effectiveness of compressed air. I don't recommend using this to dust off a computer as the stream is not strong enough to blow the dust stuck in crevices such as the CPU heat sink and computer fans. It can blow away large dust bunnies in a computer case, but that task is pointless since you can do just as well by blowing air yourself. This product is ear piercingly LOUD! It easily matches the sound of a lawn mower and the effect is even worse since you will have this device close to you. I live on in apartment and had to drag my computer in the stairway to use it or otherwise aggravate my roommate and neighbors. The battery life is very short. I let the device charge overnight and I get about 15 mins of use before it's all done. It makes no sense why this is a portable device if the battery life is so short.Okay so why didn't I give this one star? One it does match the claim in that it's rechargeable, so in the long run you will save money albeit with a product that is inferior to cheap compressed air cans. Second, I can see that this device will be useful if you need to clean dust off temperature sensitive things like antiques or plants, that would otherwise get damaged by cold compressed air.Which brings me back to the point of why buy this? You can just blow dust off yourself and do it just as well. Hey and guess what your lungs are environmentally friendly, rechargeable and FREE.

I won't need to buy compressed air cans anymore
Like other people have commented, this is very noisy, however it does its job very well (blowing out dust). Furthermore, unlike compressed air cans which tend to cool when operated and possibly leaving moisture on delicate electronic components., this electric air blower will only blow room temperature air.It comes with two straws which are identical. My only wish is that they would have included different diameter straws (at the tip) so that you could "dial up" the volume or pressure of the air.

It works great
We decided to purchase this product to reduce costs in the office. The machine does better then can air and will be our replacement now. The only downfall to this product is the sound it makes, it sounds like a jet taking off. I recommend ear plugs when using. Other then that all in all a good product.

UPDATED again <<<<<< Downward >>>>>> My bad - PLEASE DON'T Ignore my original comments
UPDATED - final - I forgot to edit my review - the SECOND one in 6 months died of the same problem - poor quality control and/or cheap parts (impeller again). And forget any 2 year warranty. My bad - PLEASE Ignore my original comments. With full charge this unit works just fine for the $'s :) Have to be careful where the exhaust goes - that'll empty an ashtray too.It is as loud as a cheap vacuum . . . and it needs better nozzles that could increase the pressure a lot but . . . I would buy another one if this one lasts at least a year.RECOMMENDED with few reservations.````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
