Oh, the Thinks You Can Think

Great book for a great price - buy it.

Favorite baby gift. Fun read for kids.

I bought this for a new baby in the family, as my own children have loved it since they were very young. There is a shorter, cardboard version. This one has the whole story which is a plus.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.” — Albert Einstein This is because everything created by people is imagined before it becomes manifested. “Oh, The Thinks You Can Think!” is my favorite Dr Seuss book for this reason. A “must have” for parents who want to nurture their children's imagination. If you only get one Dr Seuss book, I’d make it this one.

Dr. Seuss never ceases to please the reader, especially at any age. Though it may have been unfortunate that I had not encountered the complete bibliography of all of Seuss's works, but now have the opportunity to delve back and explore the exciting and humor of his literature with greater insight and enjoyment. Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! possesses those traits throughout the book and more. With most Seuss books, it is best to read each and every one aloud in order to experience the wide-eyed and unpredictable characteristics of Seuss's stories or simple narratives that any reader will be able to grasp. In addition to the impeccable prose of rhythm and rhyme, the illustrations and the unique images that each page contain may appear far-fetched and something from another world that only Seuss could create. But for Seuss readers and aficionados, indeed, it is a Seussical world where the creatures and oddities exist of Guffs, snuvs, Bloogs, and the Vipper of Vip as well as a pool of purple elephants. But upon completing Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! The fun and excitement has just begun. Or follow the words of Seuss, "And you don't have to stop. You can think about SCHLOPP. Schlopp. Schlopp. Beautiful schlopp. Beautiful schlopp with a cherry on top."

Can't go wrong with this book. Great read for your child.

I have actually wondered how much an elephant drinks, not 55, mind you, and not so much that I looked it up. Now I have more to think about.

At three months my son isn't old enough to be able to speak words yet, but he sure is trying! Too young to speak English perhaps, but not too young to hear a story and look at the pictures. I've been reading various books for him with high contrast illustrations and this is by far the favorite book for both myself (dad) and my son. My son giggles and laughs when I read this. As soon as he sees the first page ("you can think about red, you can think about pink ...") he gets excited. We have several board books of Seuss and some other authors and we enjoy all of them but Oh, The Thinks You Can Think! is simply a masterpiece. It's so much fun, the high contrast pictures really capture my son's attention and it's the perfect length for his young (short) attention span.

Great book for little hands, fun rhyming nonsense which my grandson loves.

Like the title says, nice classic book to carry around. It comes in the travel size and it's a board book, so it makes dragging around and introducing to babies a breeze.
