Works fine for my pickup.
Nothing cheezy about this; it seems to be built well. It came apparently bone dry so it got a thorough flush (and wipe) with spray grease and then it bolted right in. Don't forget to check all the hood positioning rubber pieces (search: hood rubber stops) when ordering this, most especially the two adjustable ones you usually find in the front.This is a little expensive to be buying just-for-the-heck-of-it, so be sure you need it. If the old latch has a spring, a clip, and two levers that don't wobble much on their rivets, clean it to death, lube it, and remount it at various heights in the oblong holes. It seems to work. A lot.

Quality Product as Advertised!
The exact part I needed. Watched YouTube reviews for install which is basically removing 2 nuts. My question was how best to remove and reinstall the cable. Nobody really address it. My concern was valid, took me 30 min to get old cable off and new one inserted. 4 min to remove nuts and install new unit.Product as advertised. I installed in a 91 Camero RS. Would recommend.

fit in perfectly and works like a charm now
This was a sigh of relief. My hood wouldn't open on my 2000 chevy blazer unless i pulled the lever and ran over a bump in the ground. this was a 5 minute job, fit in perfectly and works like a charm now. anyone could replace this

It did the job! The original latch seized up. This one works. Although the spring looks flimsy like it’s going to brake. But it does the job

Wish I spent the money earlier
Worked great on my 1997 Chevy Cheyenne. My hood was sticking, and I took the 15 mins (only two bolts) to swap the old one out with this, and its works like new. I wish I would have done this earlier.

Poor Design
The 2 mounting bolt threaded holes broke loose when I tried tightening the bolts. The OEM latch appeared to have threaded mounting holes with a more secure, solid design. Decided to buy an OEM latch and give it a try. Installed the new OEM latch with no problem. Yes, there is a Lifetime Warranty on this latch, but, as much as I hated to do it, I wrote this latch off as a loss. Didn't want to deal with the hassle-have other things which I have to take care of. So, quite disappointed with this latch.

Fit perfectly, OEM quality replacment part
Old latch was damaged and... well... old. Aligned perfectly and solidly. Price was slightly better than brick and mortar shops.
