I'm editing this review from a low rating to a higher one. These are very thin and it's hard to separate them to get just one, BUT after what seemed a bad reaction from my dogs, I persisted and now the accept the treatment because they want that little treat. But more importantly, I've researched all the miracle treatments that do not work, do not get to the cause and frankly are robbing people. What's critical with tears and resulting stains is hygiene, hygiene, hygiene. Boric acid with chlorine in the very diluted form of this product is exactly what's necessary for reducing chance of infection, discomfort to those eyes and creating a clean, dry, hostile environment for germs, bacteria and fungus.The combo of boric acid and clorine at a very mild, safe mix used at least twice a day adds so much more protection than just warm water that only wipes the eyes but adds nothing else. In just the right dilution and combination, the mild acids have some stain fading attributes. Will those stains just disappear? Probably not unless your dog's eye stains respond more quickly to the cleansing. But the stains are not what we should be obsessed about unless they're caused by a more serious condition only your vet can determine. It's aesthetic, and we don't like it, understandably! But it's a big red flag that your dog's eyes are uncomfortable and needs excellent daily cleaning! With all the allergens, atmospheric exposure, germs outside and indoors we do not see, these can adhere to your dog or cats eyes and we do not see it! But they feel it and it's just waiting for an infection to develop.Sorry this is so long but I've researched this so comprehensively, hopefully I can share what the real necessity is for your dog's eye health and hygiene and get off the obsession over the aesthetic of stains. After all we love our dog more than we dislike those stains. We need to see the more important message those stains are sending out about what those eyes need.This is one of the hygiene products, there may be others, that have that balance of boric acid and chloride that optimal and safe for our dog's eyes. Acids wreak havoc on germs around eyes and in eyes. These acids at the right combo and dilution do not sting or harm a dog's eyes. Boric acid lightens a bit over time as does chlorine so the solution may lighten stains faster on some dogs than others depending on how stubborn the stains are. Boric acid has been used since the beginning of medicine for safe eye discomfort and disease because of it's antibacterial and antifungal effectiveness.Creating a hostile environment around your dog's eyes is the critical focus, not the unattractiveness of the appearance no matter how much we dislike it and get focused on that while missing what it's trying to show us.This product is simple, the right formula and easy and convenient to use two and 3 times a day. Water helps but does nothing to work against bacteria and fungus, plus it dries more quickly than water which is another important factor around those eyes. I use a pad to start gently wiping downward from the corners of my dog's eyes, flip it over and wipe the entire eye area outward from the eyes, extending farther and farther outward to get the solution over as much of the face as it allows. Then I know I've taken a big step cleaning those eyes of dust, God knows what we do not realize catches and sticks to our dogs'eyes than cannot be seen. They are exposed to do much more because of the nose to the ground, floor, another dog's butt (ew!),grass, dirt, etc.So I highly rec6this route because it's really a fluke or fable that any of those pricey concoctions work, but are making lot's of money off of our vanity when our dog's stains have a deeper message we need to easily treat!If you read all this, I have high regard for you and hope you can focus on those ugly but critical indicators rather than their appearance. I intend to stick to this very effective hygiene tool as long as my dog needs more than just a wipe with water. The vinegar in water does not work. changing the ph of dog's water will set it up for other problems down the road you don't want, even if they get desperate enough to drink it because there's no pure water for them. Would you be eager to drink it instead of fresh water? Good luck!

This is my second order of these great wipes. I learned from other Amazon reviewers how great these are (thank you to them : ) ) These wipes are very thin, if you didn't know it you would go through them very quickly, they do the job though. The only con: it's hard to sometimes separate them but I use one wipe on each cat, turning it over for the other eye. I take care of many cats and these wipes are much better than just using a damp cloth for eyes that have stickiness causing the eye to stay shut or need constant eye cleaning. These work great. Of course never open a kittens eyes unless they are already old enough to see, these wipes helped with all my kittens and I also purchased (Terramycin Antibiotic Ointment) on Amazon and together it really helped. I am not a vet, I have taken so many of my cats in for expensive vet visits they have recommended the TerramycinI hope this helps somebody in need of cat care : )

It is gentle on your dog's eyes and under eyes. It removes morning stuff very easily so that there is no harsh rubbing. I use one every day to clean my dog's eyes. I never have irritation or stain. You can't wait until the hair around the eyes are a mess and then expect this product to take care of it. You have to clean your dog's eyes every day. The little thin pad is easy to use...and nicely moistened . I prefer to use this than tissue or cloth. It is much more gentle. It take ONE SECOND FOR EACH EYE!!! If you don't have 2 seconds to clean your dog's eyes in the morning.....don't get a dog who requires their eyes to be cleaned daily. Do I sound critical? Good! That's how I feel about it. I hate to see these things neglected. People buy dogs that are a bit more effort....like they need daily combing or brushing or eye cleaning.........and then complain when the hair is matted or the eyes are stained! There is a lot of information about each breed. DON'T GET A DOG YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE CARE OF. But this product will make your life and the dog's life much easier!!!

This came with a lot more pads than I originally thought when I got the package. The pads are thin and have plenty of liquid to get my dog's eye goo. It has been easy to grab one and sneak up on him when he's asleep and quickly wipe away some debris.

These work great for light daily use, so there is no eye gunk build-up. My girl doesn't mind them used on her at all. No scent, not dripping wet - just a nice pad for light daily cleaning.

Good for your money and work really well!

My Yorkie had a minor eye infection after gettting something in hi=s left eye,, I cleaned his eye with these drops for 2 days and it cleared up, he doesn't seem to mind them in his eyes either, excellent, does just what it says.
