Big enough for larger dogs (~13-15 pounds?), Beautiful design
SIZEI looked everywhere for reviews for people that have dachshunds, because their bodies are very long, even though they stand short. This carrier holds my almost 13 lb miniature dachshund and is actually a but big for her. She can be completely stretched out inside, and definitely has plenty of room to move around. You can see from the photos that she is quite comfortable inside. When the the bag is sitting upright, which is the position you would have when you are wearing it as a backpack, my dog has to lean her head down to look out the window. When the bag is laid on its back/ back down (this is probably the position you would put it in under an airplane seat), she is able to be completely stretched out and stand up completely. HOWEVER, I do not think that this bag is small enough to be carried as a carry-on bag for in cabin pet travel. It is too large to fit underneath the airplane seats. There is a smaller bag, it's the darker leather brown (pictured), and I will include the link. If you have a dog that is going to be sitting up right in the backpack, you might want this light tan canvas bag because it is taller. Otherwise the dark leather-like one is more travel-friendly.TRAVELContinuing on with the airplane theme for national flights you have to have three sided ventilation. For international flights you have to have four sided ventilation. This bag has four sides and would work for these stipulations.Comparing it to the dark leather bag, this one is much less likely to fit under the airplane seat. If your dog is small enough, I would imagine the other** bag working as a carry-on.CLEANINGTo compare again: The leather like material bag would be completely wipe-off-able and stain proof. Obviously, you can remove the inner padding in both. I would say that this would be leak proof per airport "standards." I like that the leather like material does not let the dog hair stick to it, so it looks very clean, and elegant. The light tan canvas bag, which is made of canvas seems durable, the brown leather is much more cleanable. The light handbag is canvas, and the dog hair sticks to it, and it would be more likely to stain. PERHAPS the light canvas material would be more durable than the leather? I'm assuming that the Leather-like material might be more likely to get scratched or snagged. Time will tell!LOOKThe material is high quality, and looks great. One thing I was looking for was a bag that wasn't super obvious to being a pet carrier; as you can see from some of the pictures, this bag is obvious that you have a dog in this bag. When comparing the look of the light tan canvas bag, I think that I like the overall structure of the light tan canvas bag better.COMFORTI would say this would be completely comfortable for my Doxie to be in for several hours. She has plenty of space to move around and it is well-vented. For the person wearing it, it is not the most comfortable backpack I've had. It's not a bad backpack, but it has some form of a frame that keeps it in shape. But overall the straps are padded, and fit nicely over my shoulders. The light tan canvas bag felt like it didn't dig into my back as much as the dark leather. It has a longer length to it, and maybe it's that better on my hips. I'm not sure.STRUCTUREThis bag has a sturdy structure, good shoulder straps, zippers work nicely. I DO NOT like that these zippers go around the entire base of the bag - that entire base is supported only by the zipper. I feel like that's not really durable, and the second your zipper breaks, you can no longer transport your pet with this bag). I am assuming that it wouldn't break. But I'm saying "if" it broke, that could be bad.I really like that this bag has pockets - the leather one doesn't!***I will be returning this item only for one reason: It's too big to fit under the airplane seats.

Aliens/ Apocalypse Cat Transport? ✅️ 😎
I have 4 cats. 1 is 20 yrs old, 3 are triples that are 13 yrs old. They are all pretty chill, few things startle them but all of them hate the carrier and the car ride in that to the vet. Getting them in the carrier is an act of sheer bravery with a huge dose of willpower on my part as though I am headed for the battlefield. I have 1 cat who enjoys doing new things though and is genuinely interested in watching me do new things. I thought this would be great for her. I wanted to get the high end orig one that is 2xs this cost but saw a review of them side by side and the buyer was keeping the higher cost one strictly for the fabric color and nothing else. She also stated this one was larger but they were exactly the same otherwise. I have large cats so thought this would be better. Plus, if she hated it,I wasn't out $120! This cannot be returned if you try it and cat hair is left behind. Buyer beware. My ONLY complaint is it is NOISY with the cat inside. Lots of squeaking and sloshing of stuff in the bottom of the carrier. I actually got this after watching the movie about the aliens that grab people by sound not sight and the woman running with her cat all over and often leaving him behind because she couldn't hang on to him gave me anxiety. So now, in an apocalypse, I can get one cat quietly to safety at least. She is quiet in this thing. In her carrier, she is singing the song of her people and not to judge, but it isn't exactly my type of music.

Pretty huge for a bag
It’s pretty huge! You can fit a dog easily too big for a cat and my cat is huge !

Sturdy enough for most cats
So far the backpack has held up well for short outings while our cat gets used to the experience. It is big enough for our 13lb cat, and easier to get him in this compared to the hard carrier we use for vet visits. The price was reasonable and the product seems to have all the features of some much more expensive products.

Good Carrier
I bought this because normal cat backpacks are too small. It's exactly what I was looking for.
