I gave this book a chance and even bought the second thinking something romance related would happen. It did not. If you like strategy talk and sparing then this is the book for you. Honestly I would dose off and start daydreaming in parts because it just droned on about nothing. Thumbs down for me.

I have to admit I have read a few of Bella Forrest books on vampires and they are all different. I have read some of her Shades vampires series and Hotbloods series, Both of very different takes on vampire lore and this is no exception. Dorian and Lyra are two people you start rooting for in the book. The bad thing about this vampire lore is that Dorian (the vamp) makes Lyra (Human) sick when they get close or intimate. So, that sucks! This series is about our plan (Earth) which needs these types of vampires to balance the level of evil in our world, but like any species we (human's) don't understand all we want to do is kill them all. I don't want to spoil the whole book and am curious to read the next one to see where Bella will take this series.

I LOVE Bella and everything she writes. Lyra is an amazing character and I was so swept up in her story I couldn't put the book down. Trying to figure out all the secrets and who to trust and what to do next along with Lyra was fantastic. Dorian is a character I can't wait to learn more about and see where it goes next. This view of vampires is different then the shade but fantastic all the same.

I loved this book! I love that she has started another supernatural series but it has a different twist compared to her A Shade Of Vampire series, which is amazing as well! I also really enjoyed learning about new charcters and seeing their development from start to temporary end. I read/have read a ton of books but Bella Forrest is the only author that i continously read and keep up to date with, but I most definately cant wait for book #2!!

This author always comes with new ways to tell a story that has been told so many times before. The characters are relatable and I liked the relationship between them and the redbills. Lyra and Dorian are a great team, similar in not just their ideals but their loyalty to the people they care about. Change comes at a price and fear of the unknown especially vampires with all their bad press has influenced the decisions of those in power. The situation seems impossible to escape and I am wondering how it can be resolved. Only time will tell if prejudice will win or if their actions will define them.

I've been a Bella Forest fan for quite a while and have read many of her books. Her writing has a way of hoping you from the get go and holding onto you throughout the book. Every time I started reading, I hated to put it down but then picked it up and started reading again. I just finished this book today and am bummed I can't get the next book. Oct 28th can't come soon enough.This book has romance, action, emotion, and wonderfulness that will keep you enthralled. I highly recommend it!

Once I got into this book, I could not quit until I finished it!!! Absolutely amazing!!!! Can’t wait for the next one! Great work Bella!!!!

Bella Forrest has done it again! Very well written! Fantastic! I cried during one part because I became so involved with the characters. Whether you've read other works by Bella Forrest or not, read this one!

This story was a really interesting take on vampires, almost making them the heroes, fighting darkness in humans. This actually worked really well and I enjoyed seeing them painted in that light. As with all Bella's books this was well written and i was easily absorbed into the story. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

If you love the shade of vampire series and think this is going to be the samenthen guess again. I love how Bella has added a whole new twist to vampires. They now dont feed on just anyone but just on those humans who have darkness in them and there are a lot of them. More so it makes you wonderbwho is truly more evil, humans or vamires.I was hooked the minute I picked this book up. As always Bella has created characters which you instantly love and writes a storyline that makes you want to keep reading. I just couldn't put the book down. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

I love this new take on vampires, it’s such an interesting twist that I’m invested in seeing pan out. The concept of balancing good/evil/light/dark is something that I think will be explored further in each instalment. The romance is great as well, I’m totally rooting for Lyra and Dorian already and for a couple of the side characters too. I am just gutted I have to wait for the next book, I really want to continue the story now!

This Author is nee to me, I loved the new take on Vampire. A really great story. The vampires thought they were being helped. Dorian a vampire and Lyra a human were trying to get vampires and humans to work together. They put everything into their efforts. To make it work they did. But then they were betrayed by the humans. Lyra and Dorians story is absolutely great I have just purchased the next book. Can't wait to read it.

Bella hasn't let her fans down, this exciting story line between humans and vampires has been a good read and left you wanting to know what's installed for them all. Not wanting to give the storyline away, so read it for yourselves and you'll be hooked.
