American Furniture Classics L-Work Center with Monitor Platform and Two Hutches

I could not beat the price of amazon. The desk with two hutches was 251.26 cheaper then the same desk on Wayfair!! It came in 5 boxes. The main box was it terrible shape. It looked like it had snowed in my computer room after un-packing. The other 4 boxes were fine. I was missing a few cam locks, big cams and a few dowels but I had extra in the boxes for the hutches. So that was no big deal. I spent 4 days putting it together. One, because of so many parts and when I had enough I would walk away. Second reason it took 4 days was this desk was going on a different wall, so I left my 20 year old desk in place while I assembled the new one. I did not want to lose computer access during the assembly time. Looking back, part of me wishes I had. I could have used the space but the computer was a nice distraction, lol. The desk looks great. I have found two pieces that had a little damage but nothing I can't live with. The desk is very sturdy but I do wish they had used dowels to attach the center of the desk top to the sides. Nothing I can't do later on if it becomes a problem, but I don't think it will.My advise to anyone that gets the desk with hutches is, do not un-box the hutches until you have the whole desk together. The desk it's self has to many parts to lay out. It assembles together in 3 pieces. Second, put the hutches on the desk before you put the desk in place. You have 2 brackets per hutch that have to be screwed on the back of the desk!!!I also bought the filling cabinet to set on the right side. It was not bad to put together and it was 85 dollars cheaper on amazon compared to Wayfair.In total for desk, 2 side hutches and filling cabinet I saved 336.26 buying thru Amazon instead of Wayfair. Wayfair was asking more for the desk with 2 hutches then I paid for everything at Amazon, and they are the same deck's!!!! Just sold under different companies. They are made in china!

This was a pain to put together! BUT!!! It was worth it. The only downside like many others I had issues with parts missing. Like 1 little drawer, the dividers on the center piece and the back panel for the dividers. My box did come damaged which I do not know if that was their fault or the shippers. I just delt with it because I didnt want to sit and wait for replacements as I needed the desk. I also added in some under braces for the center to connect to the two side for added weight protection. I do not know if it was truly needed but it has helped since its hard to reach the back corner of the desk an wall, so I could place my weight on it. Other then that I do not know if the price was worth it, but the desk has been and I still love it 6 months later.My only suggestions to anyone putting the desk together is to start with the left or right sides first!! Not the middle as it will seem as if you have missing parts and you really dont. You just interchange them.

This had to be the most confusing build I have done in my life. I ordered the desk with both side extensions and hunches. Arrived in 5 separate boxes with 6 different construction manuals. The instruction book was NOT very clear that you only need to use the book that has the picture of the final outcome you want, the other 5 can be pitched. Took me 2 days to figure out how to assembly properly and to complete the project. Hutches do not attach properly as the instructions show, had to build my own brace brackets to be sure they didnt fall off the desk. After completion this is a wonderful desk to use, however the center ledge where the keyboard attaches will NOT support much weight as 4 tiny plates is all that is holding it up. I plan to reinforce this seam with a slat board soon. May also add two legs under the desk as well for additional support.

Way too many missing parts for the extravagant price. Shouldn't have to go shopping/ searching for replacement hardware after already having paid for them and waiting for them to be delivered once.

It looks nice but it’s made out of cardboard essentially, The center of the desk fell apart within the first couple months.Overpriced paper thin cardboard.

Wow..where to start...ok let's start with packing, Main box came complete destroyed, stryofoam packaging is extremely flimsy. Pieces were all over the place and had styrofoam everywhere! Many pieces were damaged but no way I could have reboxed it and sent it back. Extremely dissatisfied with packaging!Assembly, well like everyone else assembly was labor intensive. Takes a long time to assemble. The cam/lock system works ok on some pieces, better on others. They recommend glueing the dolls in place, but I didn't incase I ever want to dissamble and move it. This is in my finished basement and I would never get it out in one piece.It is beautiful when finished, I hope it lasts for a few years at this price point, comparable units sell for much much more.The name is confusing "American Furniture" as this is made in China!!!All the parts were there, had no missing parts. Just wish they would pack this better for protection! Be prepared to spend hours assembling this desk, and another couple hours cleaning up styrofoam!!!Overall I am satified, this replaced and old computer desk.

I really like the desk , very nice size and looks better then advertised. Paid to have it assembled, money well spent because it took the SLOW.... I mean the PRO assembler 8 hours to put together. There are a lot of parts. Good luck and have fun with assembly. The desk price changed a lot, I caught it for $ 520.00 . I seen in 6's and over $ 700.00.

Arrived in 5 heavy boxes, the heaviest being just over 100 lbs. Lots of pieces, lots of parts, but assembly is pretty straightforward (follow the directions!). The last few steps will require a friend or two to help with and move it into final position. It is well laid out, sturdy, and looks very nice hen done. After a few weeks of use I still like it a lot.
