Dried Shallots 0.5 Pound Bulk-Heat Sealed in a Poly Bag-Dehydrated Dried Vegetables

I love the cabbage/carrot combo and decided to try the dried shallots. I tried both in a small batch of chicken soup last night and the flavor is AMAZING. They smell delicious in the package - the texture and size is perfect, and the flavor is concentrated. I didn't need much seasoning or any salt. The shallots reconstituted perfectly and tasted as good as fresh ones. It was so easy and fast, and for a single person it's great for making smaller portions. This is the second (different) product I've tried by this brand, and it's top quality. I can imagine making a lot of different kinds of meals with this product. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends.

Economical and useful in most vegetable dishes and in cheese dips. Try them with green beans! I’ve also put them in soups, mixing with other roasted veggies. Still discovering more uses.

This is my second bag of shallots from you and I was very happy with the first order, so came back to you when I needed more. The second bag was received yesterday, via Amazon on 12 November 2024. You can see that the pieces are much larger and much of the bag is full of the very thin outer (non-edible) skins found on large, older shallots. I have tasted some of the better pieces and they taste good, but this bag must have been the last in the batch and packaged up with spoons' full of dust and outer casings. This is not good quality control. In order to use any of them they will have to be hand sorted, which is not part of my cooking plans. I am most disappointed in the order. It will be my last one from this source. I contacted the company as they requested on the package, but there has been no response. The item cannot be returned according to Amazon. Very disappointed.

These add so much flavor that I used up the whole pound bag a lot faster than I thought. The purple skins need to be picked out as well as a few crowns. If you pre-hydrate them you can pick the skins out while you are waiting....they float or are so large its easy to get most of them out. But when I am in a hurry, I just throw them in to whatever I am cooking and tell hubby to pick or spit the skins out or think of them as added fiber. I need another bag soon, and am on the fence about purchasing these again. Best flavored onion-type dehydrated I have, but the chives and onions I use have much better quality control, just not the flavor. If anyone has bought these in 2026, please write a review and let us know if the quality has gotten better. The price and flavor are awesome, but the last of the bag seems to have more skins in it sadly. I may just put it in a cheese bag and use it in my bone soup broths.Then freeze the broth to add to my sauces, chili, soups, and stir frys. Not as convenient, but I can do it while I am doing other stuff. I will hold off purchasing until someone says their bag is at least less filled with skins. I am not sure they deserve 1 star, but niether do they deserve 5 star rating imo. I bought mine in beginning of 2025 I think.

They are what they sound like. A little too of the tough outer layers are included that aren't edible even after rehydrating. Also wish the bag was resealable, since its a pretty big amount. But I'm happy with the purchase overall.

I use some of these everyday in my scrambled eggs for breakfast. Game changer! They are delicious and having such a big bag is nice so I don’t have to worry about running out. I add a food safe desiccant pack to them and store them in an airtight glass container so they don't get soggy.

It's so much more convenient to have this than try to find a fresh shallot when you need one or find out the one forgotten in your fridge is rotten. Definitely use if you want to pulverize in a rub or are going to cook a sauce or broth that rehydrates it.
