Lixada Lamp Light Butane Gas Light Lantern with Gas Adapter Conversion Head for Camping Picnic Self-Driving (Gas Lantern with Adapter(No Snow Flake))

This a perfect little lantern if you need a little reading light and don't want to wake your significant other. It features an open flame top which is easy to light. The adjustment isn't too big for the flame as far as brightness but over all good.

I first tried this with the adapter for a propane cylinder. The flame only gets to about 1/4” tall. It’s pretty useless. I then tried it with an isobutane fuel canister, and it was a little better (flame about 1/2”), and then it would not turn off. I ultimately had to blow the flame out, and then remove it from the canister. I tried it again, and it turned off that time, but the globe fits so loosely, and the shut off valve is so stiff and gritty, I won’t be using it again. It just seems extremely unsafe, and the flame is so small, it’s not even really equal to the light a candle produces. I had high hopes, and didn’t expect the same output as a lantern, but less than a candle??

I received this lantern with a cracked globe/flue, so I initiated the return.Looking over the lamp, it seemed OK.I would be a bit concerned about the burner being loose, but that might be by design.I did attach it to gas for a quick test, and the first light it seemed great. Second light it tended to have a problem with gas release...but was fine after 5 minutes.3rd time...while still warm...it worked fine.Not sure if there is a valve issue, but heck, the return policy is great, so I won't complain.

Works great uses very little gas

I wanted to like this but it’s got some issues I can’t ignore. First off the globe is loose on the base. It appears the threads that the upper portion attach to in the base have a lot of play. Secondly, this does not run well on propane. It appears the adapter does not allow enough gas through for the lantern to run on. When the lantern is first lit it works fine but after a few minutes the flame is so small it goes out. At minimum this is an annoyance at most it’s a safety hazard having the flame go out and the gas still be flowing. I have no choice but to send it back. It’s got potential though if the quality issues are addressed. It looks good and comes with a nice case.

I rarely write reviews but I think this one deemed one, because it was just dangerous. I had hooked this up to a 1lb coleman tank with the supplied adapter. After attaching everything, I slowly opened the gas valve and lit the flame, the flame was not isolated to coming out of the top hole as it should have and was also coming out from the sides. I tried a few times and still no luck. Definitely not good quality control here and it shows. Something like a gas lantern should be doing better, even if it is from China. Thank goodness for amazon returns.

The Lixada Lamp is really a delight, providing reliable soft light for night activities.Mine came with a LPG (propane) adapter, which does not have a check valve, a standard safety feature on every other propane fixture I have seen. The purpose of a check valve is to prevent release of propane gas when disconnected.Instead of a check valve, the LPG adapter I received has a straight-through hole, which you can see in the attached photo. This works fine for operating the lamp, but is exceedingly dangerous if it is used improperly.The correct procedure is to assemble the adapter to the lamp, then connect to an LPG canister. To disassemble, separate the adapter from the LPG canister, then separate the lamp from the adapter.I will describe the incorrect and very dangerous procedure more clearly so you can perceive the risk, but DO NOT follow this procedure:1. Close the Lixada Lamp regulating valve.2. Attach the LPG adapter to the Lixada Lamp.3. Attach the LPG adapter to a propane canister.4. Detach the Lixada Lamp from the LPG adapter, leaving the LPG adapter attached to the propane canister.After step 4 there is a straight hole from the inside of the propane tank to the atmosphere, with nothing to restrain the entire contents of the propane canister from exiting through the adapter.Such an event is capable of producing a serious fire, explosion, or frostbite injury.Again, DO NOT execute this procedure, due the risk of injury or death from frostbite, fire, or explosion due to the quantity of propane released.I do not understand how such a device is being sold in the United States, liability law being what it is. I discussed the matter thoroughly with the vendor, and they are certain the adapter I received is exactly the way they designed it. In our conversation I didn't detect any sign they grasped the danger of accidental or intentional misuse. Indeed, their exact words were "There is no need to separate the adapter from the lamp, just plug the entire product into the cylinder." At one point, they asked me to make a video of the problem, which I declined to do.I destroyed my adapter to prevent its misuse and instead will be using one that has a check valve. I suggest everyone else do the same.

This is not a bright lamp, but sufficient to dine with. It produces a yellow flame and does not require a fragile mantle.It appears and feels like good quality.
