Metal Gear Solid 3: Foxhound Messenger Bag

I bought this Messenger bag for my brother for Christmas. We're both fans of the MGS franchise and he needed a new bag for school. We had come across this bag sometime ago, but he had mentioned it to me and suggested it as an idea for Christmas.So I decided to get it for him since A) he could use it and B) it's MGS related. It was shipped without any problems and delivered exactly when it was suppose to. I opened the box but didn't inspect the bag until he opened it on Christmas day.We then both looked at it and saw that it is rather small, as other reviewers had mentioned. Luckily, he just needs it for books, notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. It has a small side pocket that shuts with a zipper and has a lot of utility pockets on the inside. This isn't designed as a laptop bag, but you may be able to get a Chromebook, netbook, tablet, or a Macbook Air/13in to fit in this with room to spare.He has a rather large 15in Lenovo laptop, which is too big to fit in the bag. This isn't a problem for him since he already has a laptop bag and needed something mainly for school supplies for daily use, but be aware that this isn't for 15-17in laptops at all.The materials feel sturdy and heavily constructed. The shoulder strap connects to the bag by plastic hooks that seem to be of pretty decent quality, time will tell it's durability, but it looks like it's up to the task of moderate to heavy usage.The straps on the front of the bag are not velcro nor do they have notches like a belt buckle, it just straps in and you pull it to the desired length. I actually like this design and he does too. It feels like it's more of a classic design over the modern approaches. Less parts = Less room for breakage and other problems. The Foxhound patch is also of decent quality and looks pretty awesome on the bag. The colors, design, and size are perfect and appropriate.It also has an option to go into "Cosplay" mode, which is you unhook the shoulder strap, and use the belt hoop slots on the back to hook it to a belt. It's a neat little feature if you want to use this for Cosplay or a Halloween costume, but serves no real practical use outside of that.Overall, this bag is good for average daily use for small gadgets and school supplies. If you need a more versatile bag for laptops, small gadgets, and supplies but want to keep the MGS theme going, you could always get a regular Olive Green messenger bag, buy the Foxhound patch (or other MGS patches) separately, and hot iron or stitch it on yourself.4 stars- For the build quality, pockets, Foxhound patch, and overall bag design. Perfect for small gadgets and small laptops.-1 star- Too small for average sized (15-17in) laptops.

I am a true fan of Metal Gear, and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater was one of my favorites of the series. In MGS 3 Snake Eater we see Naked Snake with this backpack, i for thought it was so Cool and was so happy to finally see one for sale. It's not exactly the one in the game it's missing the FOXHOUND Logo. Anyway i was very happy to get this, it's for any MGS fan, also you can do Cosplay with it, remove the shoulder strap that hooks the bag, next take a sturdy belt or any other type of belt slip it through the loops on the back then just wrap the belt around your waist. It looks Awesome in in Cosplay!!! Anyway about the bag it's small but i don't go to school so i don't worry about huge text books or laptops, my comic books, DVD'S Games's, Phone's electronics fit fine, Overall i Loved it!! It's a collectible also.

Everyone asks me where I got this bag, even people who don't play MGS. It's a fine bag, and I prefer to unhook the strap and carry it by the handle. The color scheme is perfect, patch is very large and detailed, and I have plenty of space for my netbook, cosmetics, notebooks and PSP. The pouch on the side is best for a small cell phone and not much else, though. Great price for such a great collectible.I love the belt loops on the back, too.

When I read all of the negative reviews surrounding this great looking bag, I was worried. But I took the plunge and got it anyway. And my decision was worth it.Pros: fits what I need it to. (11" netbook, normal size textbook, 2 spiral notebooks, kindle fire,3DS, chargers, mouse, pencils, pens, keys); It is very sturdy. (I live in Austin, and it is very hilly, and this bag has held up.); the strap is a comfortable length. (I read a review saying that the strap was so short that it only extended just under a 5'7" guys arm pit. I'm 5'5", and it can go way below my waist.)Cons: even though the strap is long enough, I feel like it could be stronger. I might have to get another one later.All in all, I am very happy with this product. I would definitely recommend it to any metal gear fan who likes the style of this messenger bag.

It's a very nice bag for storing books and similar things. It has a pretty decent shoulder strap and even belt loops. It's got inside pockets and some pen holders. It even comes with a tag telling you how to use it for cosplay. I'm glad it did because otherwise I would have never figured out how to attach it to a belt.

Unfortunately I didn't notice the size dimensions for this & was quite disappointed in this. If you have few items or want to use it for a prop for some Snake cosplay, it's perfect. It has belt loops in the back so you can wear it as a rear pack. The shoulder strap isn't long enough for the average adult. Overall, good construction but it wasn't suitable for my everyday needs as a work bag.

Was not as sturdy as I thought it would be. It tore, but I was able to fix it. One of the plastic hooks broke, and I am going to replace it with a metal one to keep it from happening again,.

Purchased this awhile back and doing the review just now...my son loves it and uses it for travel/storing his different video gaming systems...nice size bag and very well constructed...
