Reapr 11003 44 Inch Survival Spear-Black

I don't recommend carrying this on your back at the mall. Don't ask me how I know this.

Wish it were 6 inches longer, would work better for my intended purpose as a walking stick with a point for dog packs in the back country. That being said, overall it seems pretty solid.Pros:Good valueSolid constructionShaft is not round, which makes for good indexing of the blade orientation in your hands.Blade looks to be well made and finished for a cast piece. (Forged steel is stronger)Rubber sheath that's tight and solidly attached, but comes off pretty easily if you want it to.Cons:Shaft is slightly curved, but not enough to screw up your "aim", if you get my drift.Shaft is not round, which means it can flex in one plane.Blade is *almost* sharp. It's OK if your intent is strictly thrusting, but for better efficiency as a weapon you'll want to sharpen it with 3-4 minutes on a grinder.As you can see in the pictures there are 2 open holes in the blade. Having those closed up would make me feel more comfortable that the blade is sturdy enough for self-protection against animals, especially since someone mentioned in another review that they had chipped the blade, though they didn't describe the usage that caused it. I really don't see the purposed of the holes. Maybe I'm missing something...I'll do some light testing over this weekend and if I find anything noteworthy I'll...note it.

This thing is no joke. Nice black finish with a sturdier-than-most blade. Handle is strong and could easy knock the wind out of someone. I don't believe it's a throwing spear, it's a bit heavy for that. But it would make one hell of a defense weapon. This spear is a perfect addition to anyone's collection of large blades. And it's made me a very happy customer. Not to mention at an amazing price for it's quality. Already recommended Reapr products to a friend of mine. Hope to buy more from this brand!

It is not the best spear on the market, but for the price, you couldn't ask for more. It is a good choice if you want a spear but don't have the money for a great one.

Awesome product. Well built. Well designed. I would consider what u are going to use it for. Its too short to walk with. What i plan to do is attach it to the side of my pack to access when i need it. I bought it to take care of snakes when im on the trail.
