Bag is really small - waste of $$
Tiny bag!! Not worth $8. I bought this bc reviews said the pieces of moss were large, but they're not. Most of the moss in the bag is dust and unusable

Came intact and with no 'dust'
Exactly as advertised. Some people say the bag is too small but it is the exact size in the description. I also read reviews about how most of the moss was crushed and in a dust like form at the bottom of the bag. This was not the case for mine it came intact with only just a tiny pinch of dust at the bottom. What people need to remember is the manufacturer can't be held liable for damage done to the product during shipping and processing.

VERY small bag for this price point
Good enough product but the size is much smaller than I expected (smaller than the size of a small brown lunch bag -- see photo). One bag would likely only cover a small 6-8 inch house plant.

small bag
i have been ordering multiple bags sphagnum each year-great stuff. i ordered these thinking that are my usual and its the same moss at 4x the price when considering the size of the bag, not even enough for one flower pot.

Not quite what I'm used to...
I've received sphagnum moss from carnivorous plant sellers before and it didn't look like this. Perhaps this is normal for soil cover moss, but I needed to use the moss AS soil for the plants. This was very dry so it got moss dust everywhere. It was a lot of stems and sticks whereas the moss I've purchased from plant sellers was all the leafy part of the moss. I was still able to use it by just picking out the stems but I will repurchase moss from a live plant seller and mix that in.

The More You Know
I've heard others complain about the ratio in this brand but If you know what you're doing you know they've done you a favor by having the option to take out the twigs and do a little processing to use the sphagnum for seeds or use it whole for full grown plants. Those twigs aid in retaining water for those that don't know and with certain types of carnivorous plants such as the one I'm growing the Southern Purple Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia) you need a wetter environment.

Apparently it is also great for bird nests because I get robbed every spring ...
It is just the right texture for lining baskets. Apparently it is also great for bird nests because I get robbed every spring and have to replace it :-).

Works great.
Purchased this to cover the tops of my orchid pots. It's very dry in my apartment and the moss helps hold some of it in. This package was more than I needed so I just stored the rest in a ziplock bag for later.
