From bestselling author Anh Do comes the hilarious hit chapter book series, WeirDo. These illustrated books will keep readers laughing as Weir and his friends navigate the trials of elementary school. Weir's back and super weird!Dad's training to become a firefighter, while Weir's busy with Pet Day!Will FiDo and Blockhead freeze-up or find fame? It won't be easy . . . but it will be funny! Review: Book Review - {My thoughts} – Weir and his family are back in an all new fun story. This one is mostly based on the family pets. Weir and his family send a video of their dog and bird to a television show that shows videos of pets doing funny and silly things. Their video ends up becoming widely popular. Due to the video being aired on television a bunch of people show up at Weir’s house the next day with cameras. They take tons of photos of Weir and the pets. They end up scaring the bird off and the rest of the book is everyone looking for the missing bird. I really like these books. They are funny. They are interesting and they have a different sort of feel to them then most children’s books I have read. I enjoy that they are easy to read. I like that the cover dictates what color will be used to emphasize certain text within the pages of the book. In this case it is purple. I like how the words on the pages blend together seamlessly with the illustrations. I look forward to reading more books in this series when they are released. Review: Not the cheapest, but worth the price! - My 2nd grader was introduced to the WeirDo books through our (virtual) Scholastic book fair at school this fall. He really enjoyed the books, so we looked for more titles in the series. Problem is, the author is Australian, and the later books in the series are only carried outside of the U.S. desertcart is one of the ONLY places where you can find these books at a relatively decent price. They are pricey because they are imported. But all of these books are humorous fun for all ages -- which made it well worth the cost! We love these stories!

7 year old son loves this author!
My son loves these books completing them in about two days! He is an advanced reader and is summer before his second grade year. I just wish that book 5 i could find for the same price. Unfortunately the next books in the series each run 4 times as expensive.

8 year old daughter loves these
My 8 year old daughter just loves this series of books by Aussie comedian Ahn Do. They have a good mix of graphic novel and early chapter books. She can read one these herself in a day and feels very proud to have read an entire book. I hear constant giggles from her room when she reads these. Love them!

Fun series for my 8yo to read!
My 3rd grade (8yo) son really enjoyed these books so we bought the entire series! Wier and his family are hilarious! I also enjoyed reading these with my son. These books have lots of pictures between the words, making it somewhat similar to graphic novels which my son also loves. Fun series to read!

Great, simple but fun chapter book.
Love these books. We first bought one in Aus and loved it. Excited they are in the US and I have bought 1-4 already. Perfect for 5-6 yr old. Enough graphics and words for this age group. And a little gross which is always perfect for this age. Highly recc.

Family portrayed negatively in this series
My child received the first 4 books in this series as a gift. Like other uninspired early readers for children, the humour is focused quite intently on poo and farts, which is fine but got tiresome even for my eight year old. There is also a running “joke” about the main character’s little brother, who keeps getting his “thing” stuck in between the toilet seat. Ooookay, moving on. My main problem with this series is twofold: first, the main character has a caring grandparent and parents that are a little off-beat, but they are portrayed as weird, cringey, juvenile and embarrassing. Secondly, the sibling relationships are quite negative: the older sister is malicious and the younger brother is just stupid. I’m never a fan of books where a good family is bashed relentlessly—especially hard-working immigrant families trying to make a new life for their children. I was not impressed. There is also a discrepancy between the reading level and the age appropriateness of the material, as the level is about grade 2, but the subject matter (crushes, who is “cool” in the class, etc) is more suited to grade 4 or 5. Moreover, even my grade two child did not find these books very funny or engaging. If your kid likes “weird and funny,” try the Dog Man series instead.

Wonderful
This book is funny and will be sure to make you laugh. The biggest book had to be worth 4 stars because it made me laugh and it was a little weird. This book is suitable for people over 8 but adults could read it to under the age and would definitely make them laugh and that will have a lot of fun!!! This book is a amazing book and I consider is as a book you should read! Enjoy life even if your a bit of a weir-do. XD
