Jorgensen POJ3706HD 6" Heavy Duty Steel Bar Clamp

Bought four of these to add to my collection. I already have some 6” Jorgensen light duty version as well as some Irwin 6” light duty.These are certainly heavier with a deeper reach. “Heavier” in terms of more heavy duty as well as physically heavier. They can easily apply a lot more pressure compared to the lighter duty. They are smooth to operate and appear well made. One had a slight chip in the paint upon arrival but appeared due to shipping as the paint chip was in the box and there was no rusting. Only knock would be the handle is now a plastic and rubber contrivance as opposed to wood. Works fine now but my experience has been that over time and higher temps in the shop in summer the rubber will slowly become sticky. Probably just wrap athletic tape around it at that point. Nice clamp for now though.

In my line of work we usually go through many clamps, made by various brands. Since switching to these, we haven't gone through any. We're replacing our worn ones with these and won't switch to anyother brand.

Bought two of the 6" and then four of the 12".Love them.I've seen a few reviews where people where having a big 'ol whinge about certain qualities they felt were deficient.Have to admit I can't reconcile those problems with the units I received. They are well made, finished quite well, clamp parallel and apply a lethal kung-fu grip to the job.I have a zillion Bessey 3/4" pipe clamps - the Ponys outgrip them by a lightyear. For example, I had 5 pipes on a smallish merbau job, tightened as hard as I could make them.... then I put a Pony on Just To Make Sure... it squeezed out a LOT of glue. Impressive.I will def be ordering a few more 6". They are a good size for small jobs.
