Perfect Sketchbook for Everyday Use
I’ve been on the lookout for a sketchbook that strikes the right balance between quality and practicality and I finally found it with the Artgecko Classy Sketchbook. The A5 landscape size is just right for carrying around when I'm out and about, which is a huge plus for me since I like to sketch on the go. The 150gsm white cartridge paper feels really sturdy, and it holds up well to different mediums. I tend to use a mix of graphite, colored pencils, and even a bit of watercolor, and this paper handles it all nicely without warping or bleeding through. What I really appreciate is how smooth the pages are to work on. I’ve found that the paper grabs onto pencil and pastel really well, giving me more control over my lines which helps a lot when I'm trying to capture the details of a scene or an object. It’s also thick enough that I can erase without worrying about tearing the page, which is a must for me since I don’t always get it right on the first try.The 80 pages offer plenty of room for my ideas, and I love that it opens flat so I can easily work across both sides of a page. Also, the binding feels durable, so I don’t see it falling apart anytime soon. Overall, I’m really satisfied with the Artgecko sketchbook. It’s been a reliable companion for my creative sessions, and I’d say it’s worth trying out if you’re looking for something that feels classy yet stays practical for everyday use.

Will be buying again
Many pages that work with pencil, felt pen, acrylic paints and water paints. Sometimes water paint pens can bleed through to the next page so I recommend putting a paper towel down to prevent this issue. However it is durable and the paper allows for ease of drawing and designing.

Fabulous Paper!
Unfortunately the A3 sketch pad I purchased was creased in the corners but the paper itself is so good! Perfect for illustration, if it wasn't creased. I think I was just unlucky.Without the creases a 5 star!

Great sketchbook, produced in UK, for a great price!
I’m not a professional artist or anything along those lines, so please bare in mind that this purely from a beginner hobbyist’s point of view.I ordered this because the reviews were good and the price was also great. The fact that it’s made by hand in Yorkshire, with British paper is a huge bonus - I love supporting small businesses! It came in a plastic wrapper, probably needed in Amazon’s Prime holding facilities as I’ve had plenty of grubby stuff arrive via Prime. I was instantly impressed the second I removed the wrapper to find the cover is beautifully tactile, and then I opened it up to find a green inside cover with another tactile delight for my hands to roam over featuring the artgecko logo.I was mainly looking for a sketchbook that I can practice sketching in, before transferring the ideas to watercolour paper for painting purposes, I’m not good with a pencil by any stretch of the imagination lol. And the paper has that slight bit of tooth that takes pencil nicely. I’m honestly amazed at the quality for the price!I had a bit of a play last night, and couldn’t resist testing my Gouache and watercolour paints on a sheet, not that I expected it to hold up at all, but figured it’d be good to know in case I want to do a light wash with a sketch or something. Surprisingly it took it ok, with zero bleed through, and while there is some ghosting on the reverse from my darkest Gouache paints, a bit of warping I’m still impressed because I wasn’t expecting it to hold up at all (I’ve included a picture of the reverse).I also checked out the company’s Instagram as the little notecard that came with the sketchbook listed their account and it was lovely to see their re-posting of the customer’s works in their books, as a small business owner myself social media done right is a wonderful thing, enabling us to develop better relationships with customers and giving the personal touch that being small gives the advantage of being able to do. Therefore if you’re considering ordering an artgecko sketchbook I recommend you go and see what their customers are doing with them over on Instagram as well as reading these reviews.I’m looking forward to filling mine in with my scrawls!

Great sketchbook!
Good quality A5 sketchbook! I do mainly watercolour, and it doesn't pill the paper, make it crinkly or bleed through. Marker pens will bleed through though, so definitely have some scrap paper under your page. Really great product though and I will buy again.

Perfect for pencil sketching.
I'm an... intermediate artist, although I mostly work digitally and bought this to try and break some of the bad habits I've developed as a result. Sketching on paper, you have a finite number of times you can erase before you simply have to move to the next drawing, so they're good learning tools.I can't speak to how this holds up to other media, as I'm solely using it as a study tool with pencil, but for that purpose it's wonderful. The paper is smooth (so as not to create unintended texture or friction in a sketch), unmarked, and has a satisfying sound when "wobbled" (sorry, that's how I judge paper, I'm not a pro by any means). The book arrived wrapped and similarly unmarked. The cover is soft to the touch and pleasant to handle. It's a joy to sketch in - it arrived yesterday and I've filled four pages absentmindedly already lmaoI will note one drawback, however: the paper is cut to the same size as the cover, and - being ringbound - is therefore sometimes exposed at the edges. If you're intending to carry it around, expect the edges of your pages to get... kinda bashed, maybe a little manky. For the price, however, I'm certainly not complaining.
