Nice "35mm Equivalent" Prime Lens
This Meike 25mm f/2 manual lens really delivers for the price. I chose it based on reviews and am very happy with it after several shoots. Build quality is excellent and it is optically more akin to the Meike 25mm T2.2 cine lens (10 elements, 8 groups) rather than the Meike 25mm f/1.8 (7 elements, 5 groups). I especially like that I don't have to use or attach the focus follower gear rings as I'm primarily a stills guy and don't own a focus follower anyway.I've used and moved on from 2 other prime lens choices of roughly 35mm focal length equivalence on APS-C: a Zonlai 22mm f/1.8 (33mm equivalent) which had a flat and sterile look as well as a vintage Mir-24 35mm f/2 mounted w/ a focal reducer/speed booster (37mm equivalent) which was too retro in the color rendering to be useful in every situation. The Meike 25mm f/2 (37.5mm equivalent) looks like it will suit me better long term.IQ is very nice and the lens adapts well across situations and settings admirably. ARW, HDR, Rich B&W, Sepia, etc.; the lens handles them adroitly and returns very usable results. Coma, chromatic aberration and lens flare are very restrained for a lens in this price range.Regarding the sample pictures I uploaded: the church, tree bole, bird house and light painting are all edited in post. The sedimentary rock and the tea house are unedited samples of Rich B&W and Sepia modes.

Great, fun lens for the price
This is such a fun lens. I love that I can play with the aperture as well as the focus on 2 different rings. Sometimes, expensive autofocus lenses are over-rated. It's like driving a manual car vs an automatic car. Automatic is so convenient, but gets boring quick. Very good camera for beginners. Quality of pictures are surprisingly good for a lens that only costs a hundred bucks. It's also a pretty decent sized lens due to having multiple layers of glass. Makes your camera not look like a tourist's point-and-shoot, if that's important to you. (it is to me! haha)ps. The weird gear-like rubber rings that are supposed to go on the lens to help you turn it is kinda useless. It makes it look weird and honestly isn't THAT useful. But it was included for free, so might as well try it before leaving it somewhere and forgetting about it.

Very detailed crisp lens.
I haven't tested it at all extremes but I can say that in the middle apertures that I used, this is a very sharp lens. Given its ability to get within 10 inches of the subject I know this will be my go to lens for plants. You can see in the pictures I included just how how nice of a job it does. The color rendition appears to also be quite accurate; notice the flower bud and how it captured the delicate colors there. This lens performs far above its cost range and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Nice lens, focus ring has issues
I use this on the Sony A5100 camera. This lens feels like it weighs more than the camera. The frame is built mostly from metal parts and obviously there is multiple glass elements in it, hence the weight. Manual focusing isn't the easiest thing to do on an A5100 but it works for non-moving objects if you have patience.IMAGE QUALITYWe buy lenses for the image quality and this doesn't disappoint. This is able to take nice sharp images with nice bokeh at F2. The color rendition is good and the wide angle distortion is well controlled.FEELIt feels hefty and seems like it could take some rough handling. This is an all manual lens with two rings. One for focusing and one for the aperture. The aperture ring is fine as I would expect. My main problem is with the focus ring. The ring requires too much turns to focus from near to far subjects and vice versa. If I was doing fine focus adjustments, it's easy to do, but when the focus difference is too great, it takes too much work to turn the ring. The ring feels too stiff too compared to other Sony and Nikon OEM lenses I have used. This feels like the Achilles heel for this lens.

Meike MK-25mm F2.0 APS-C Large Aperture Wide Angle
Great build quality. Out of the box I was really impressed with the look and feel of this lens. And fits my Sony and perfectly. Gotta say my camera looks better overall with this lens attached. The lens works great for low light conditions and manual adjustments are smooth and easy. Overall this lens makes my shooting experience much more enjoyable and allows for more beautiful and pleasing pictures.

No autofocus
This is a manual focus lens. This is not for amateur point and shoot photography. If you need a nice prime, low light lens for fixed focus work, this is quite a nice lens for the price.
