MagSol Organics Sweet Orange Magnesium Deodorant (Travel Size: 0.5 oz) - Lasts 2 Weeks

After a year and a half since my breast cancer diagnosis, I am still searching (and spending a small fortune) for a non-aluminum deodorant that will not leave me stinky. I've tried so many and been disappointed so many times. I'd read good things about this one and read the reviews, so decided to give it a try. What a monumental disappointment! I applied it to freshly showered armpits and by the end of the day, noticed that I was indeed stinky under my armpits, which is very embarrassing in public. Don't give me the song and dance that my armpits have to de-tox before this will work, as I have not used regular anti-perspirant and have only used natural deodorants for over a year now (and usually just give one a try and then don't use anything when it becomes apparent that one doesn't work, so most of the time, I'm going au naturale. Any de-toxing that needed to be done has surely been done by now. This stuff just does not work and I really, really wanted it to because I love the rose scent (which is the only reason for the two stars).After continuing to use it I've found that if I wash under my arms with Hibiclens each evening and then apply the deodorant after my shower and again in the morning, I tend not to have underarm odor, although I still occasionally do. I don't know if it's just from the Hibiclens or from a combination of the Hibiclens and the deodorant.I'm still on the quest for an effective underarm deodorant that doesn't cost a fortune, doesn't contain aluminum, and actually works. Unfortunately that probably doesn't exist.ETA: The company contacted me and asked about my experience. When I told them that this just does not work for me, they offered to send me samples of different scents to see if one of them would work better for me as the oils used to scent them may help with odor control better. They also offered to refund my money if none of them work for me. That's pretty good customer service so they got another star.

This review is two-part. I don't write many reviews, but this one is so good I wanted to pass the word:1. Whomever got the idea for using Magnesium in deodorant is a genius. Modern foods (and water) lack natural levels of Mg so this deficiency is a known and growing health problem. Many can't ingest it very well using supplements, so soak it through the skin in a bath. This works, but who has the time? But most everyone puts on deodorant daily, so why not add Mg to that? Day after day one keeps repleting their Mg levels without even knowing it. A dang clever way to keep one's Mg levels high; I'm not going back!2) This Lemon Grass version is perfect for me (and my wife, she keeps stealing it). It has a faint but pleasant odor.Exactly the deodorant I've been looking for, not overpowering but eliminates the body odor, exactly what it's supposed to do.

I went organic and natural 9 years ago and started to use the typical natural formulas. My immune system decided that it didn't like those anymore with the worst rashes that I had ever had in my life. So I had to find ones that didn't have the baking soda, cue the stinky smell because none of those could control the odor or wetness as well as this caused rashes too. So I very sadly went back to store bought deodorant until I healed the skin under my arms and found a deodorant that wouldn't give me third degree armpit rash/burn. Then, I was internet researching magnesium and came across deodorant with magnesium and decided why not give this one a try! What do I have to lose?!? I am glad I did! It was the best idea ever! I have been using it for 3 weeks and so far so good! No rash and no smell! For reference, I live in the south with hot humid summers and i have hyperhidrosis. Please try it for yourself! I really think that you will like it!

I've tried many natural deodorants and so far this one is my favorite! I've only been using it about 1 week, but I really like it. There are minimal ingredients in it, and none of them are caustic or reaction-causing. In fact, this is the first natural deodorant I've found with such few ingredients! It's amazing! I never would have thought of using Magnesium in a deodorant! Other brands I've tried have either caused an itchy rash (likely due to the baking soda) or have stopped working and I would need to re-apply multiple times per day. If you are new to natural deodorant, you should know that it is not an antiperspirant, meaning that it doesn't stop you from sweating. You WILL sweat (which is totally good/natural/healthy), but using this deodorant you won't also stink. The rose scent isn't my favorite, but it is very true to the rose essential oil smell (meaning that they do in fact use quality essential oils!). Lavender is my favorite, but they were out of stock. What I also like is that the rose smell does dissipate after a few hours, but you don't start smelling bad. The rose isn't a cover-up smell, it's just a pleasant odor for those that like scented deodorants. Most days I put it on in the morning after a shower (make sure you really dry your pits first! This is a helpful tip is you are using any natural deodorants.) and that's it! Now, it is Summer and it is HOT here (90 degrees), so after working hard outside one day I felt like putting it on before bed just as a precaution so I didn't wake up smelly the next day. Lastly, the amount they give you is a lot! I believe them when they say it should last about 4 months. I am hopeful that I continue to love this product and it doesn't stop working for me, as some other natural deodorants have. Overall, I am VERY happy with this purchase and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, natural, CRUELTY FREE deodorant. :)

I hate to leave this review because the majority are positive, but I was super disappointed by this deodorant. The smell is pleasant but only lasts about three hours for me. I do not have overly smelly armpits so I was shocked by how little coverage the deodorant provided. I wish it would have worked because it's an easy and effective way to supplement Magnesium.
