Cedar EssenceSweater/Storage Box with Lid & Dual Clasps UNFINISHED

Exterior measurements are approximately 14” x 12 1/2” x 5 1/2”. Interior dimensions are 13” x 11 1/2” x 4 1/4”The rich fragrance of Cedar permeates the box upon opening. Beautifully crafted this sturdy box comes complete with two handsome gold latches (nothing fancy-just low grade hardware but perfectly fine here). Three hinges fasten the lid which is held open with a nice gold chain (attached to the inner left side of box). The sharp beveled top edge adds a nice Finishing touch. Corners are all sharp and flush. Box arrived adequately protected and looks great. Love the smell of fresh cedar. Being Cedar is very prone to cracking and splitting it would not surprise me if occasionally the wood might split on some of these (which did happen with mine—but so slight that it’s not noticeable and for my purposes was my going to affect anything). Overall I am very pleased. Thickness of wood is about 1/4” or so so nice and sturdy. I don’t think this is built to be handled or transported a lot but for packaging something or long term storage an excellent box! Great customer service!

This box is great quality and will be useful for years and years. I am using it in a vacation home to store one set of sheets between visits. It may not hold full set but at least a top sheet and pillow cases when folded to fit. The cedar scent is wonderful and will be a nice welcome to me and guests as well. This would make a wonderful keepsake box.

What a joy to find a well made item these days, the clasps are so snug you have to work a little bit to get them open, no moths will find our woolens in here! Thank you, please make more sizes, I want them all over the house! Smells wonderful, beautifully figured wood used, years from now when we are long gone these will still be doing their job, with Pendleton treasures stored safely within. A gift a daughter will treasure for a lifetime.

The wood work is superior - A+. It doesn't get any better than this. The wood is amazing - perfectly flat, perfect 90 degree angles. My gosh it's fantastic. The clasps are cheap. You can just take them off and replace them with something worth of this box. The hinges are weak too. Again, just customize your box. This could be a family heirloom. It is just amazing!

I have always appreciated cedar boxes and the incredible smell on the inside of them. I purchased this as a gift for someone else and was very impressed with the craftsmanship of the box. It's unfinished Western Red Cedar, so you have to be aware that it's a softwood and will mar easily. You have to understand that when you purchase it, it's definitely not Maple. Handle it with care.The clasps on the front are not lockable, so that might be a factor for someone who wants to keep kids out of it, but otherwise the clasps and hinges do what they are meant to do. The chain on the inside of the box doesn't look like a high-end chain, but it is fully functional, and does the job it needs to do, mainly keeping the lid of the box from falling backward and getting marred up in the process.This is a great box for the people who appreciate wood for what it is, and value the scent of cedar. You'll be impressed with it, especially the Made In America part!

I got this to be storage for shoe care products, like an extension. of the cedar shoe shine box. But i have several colors of dress shoes and needed more space than the shoe shine box. This is perfect for the task. It’s made well and it smells good. It’s exactly what i wanted:

Mine came with quite a few cracks, a few chips, and a lid that won’t close. I’m returning.**Update: I got the replacement. It has just a few defects that you’d expect which add to the charm of the box. It’s perfect. I’m glad I got a replacement bc this was an important purchase for my cashmere sweaters. Moths love to chow down on my cashmere. This one closes, it’s not splitting, and there’s no chips. Getting the replacement was no hassle. I can’t review the seller, so I’m minding my ps and qs. I’d buy it again. The box is beautiful and smells great. I hope the moths revolt. Pack up your moth circus and move on ya furry brats.

Thi!s is the 3rd one I've bought for our cashmere sweaters. I was bummed after a new Xmas present to my husband got attacked by a moth right away here in CA. These boxes are the perfect protectors and easy to keep closed. I don't bother to latch them as the latch is a bit difficult. I just close the lid and the moths stay away. The box is beautiful and the closet aroma is lovely with them in it!
