Best quality stone at under $40 per stone. This set should cost twice what it does for the quality.
The stones are oversized which is helpful, and the set has the three stones that anyone would want for a basic set, plus a stone to level any grooves made in the sharpening stones. Coarse for a damaged blade, medium for general sharpening and a fine stone for finishing. I had no trouble with the stones slipping once I had aquired some technique. Each stone has a rubber gasket that locks it into the wooden base, and the base has a rubber matt on its bottom to keep it from moving too much. This is my first foray into the world of stone sharpening. I watched several YouTube how-to videos and this product specifically was compared to a more expensive glass backed stone (industry high quality standard) that is 5x more expensive. This product was shown to be reasonably comparable, though not as good as the most expensive stone on the market, as expected, but it wasn't far behind in quality. For a beginner like me, or a thrifty person, this proves how good of a value this stone is and that it is a good stone for someone who wants a functionally sharp knife for the kitchen. I was able to sharpen my knives (one of which had the tip dull to the point of a table knife) to razor sharpness and I was able to slice a piece of paper with just the weight of the knife quite easily when I was done. My knives cut like new (high quality wustoff knives that are now 10 years old) and I was able to learn the basics of the technique very quickly after an hour of watching youtube and practicing with my cheapest knife. I'm very satisfied with this product. For reference, I cook 4 days a week on average, from scratch, so i am constantly chopping something and I know what a good knife should feel like when it cuts through something.

Makes knives sharp!
When I ordered these sharpening stones, I did not realize that I was buying such a luxury kit!I have now used these stones to sharpen two knives, some garden shears, and to finish the edge on a hatchet. Everything worked perfectly.Up until now I only used a whetstone that I had purchased many years ago. I just could not make the knife fully sharp. Now I realize it is because of the inadequate whetstone.

Very Satisfied With This Purchase
Awesome set of stones. They have a free angle guide inside the set of you email pictures of your order and the gift card; pretty cool extra bonus. The stones helped us bring our kitchen knives back to life. Even better than when we first bought them. The size of the stones in this set are a huge bonus, and well worth the price of this set. I have smaller stones, but, the increased surface area of these truly helps with efficiency of sharpening and variety of knives you can sharpen with ease.Definitely do your research on technique and form. Definitely soak the stones before use, about 10-15 minutes preferably, but a 5 minute soak at minimum if you're impatient. I would recommend doing a surface level (use the block provided or your own) before you begin sharpening for the first time to ensure you have a flat surface. Also recommend a surface level after each use.Personal tip: start with the lowest grit, whether or not your knife is decently sharp already. It really helps with the finished product. The only thing that would make this set better, in my opinion, would be the addition of a stropping block.Overall great set, great quality, and very effective.

this kid has nearly everything! All you need to provide is the water in the knives!
somewhere during a recent move, I lost my hodgepodge of sharpening tools and loose whetstones, so I decided to look at getting a new set.and this set is amazing! It is full of large stones at three levels of coursenessPlus a flattening stone and a bamboo base with no slip bottom to place your stones in wow sharpening.everything is absolute top quality, even the packaging is superb.is this set for beginners? Not exactly. If you know the basics on how to sharpen a knife or are an expert in this it is absolutely for you. If you are a beginner, then this set well provide you with everything you need to learn and keep your knives sharp for lifetime. Although you may want to purchase some of the blade guides available to hold your knife at the right angle while youโre learning the finer points of sharpening. r

My knives are happier now
My husband is obsessed with this. And I can report back that our knives are much sharper and easier to use. This is a great set! Very heavy though, and large, so you do need to have space someplace to put it. But it's not a tool you need to use daily, so I keep it in a storage closet.

Best way to sharpen knives.
I have been looking for a good way to sharpen knives. My goto favorite was spyderco triangular sharp maker. My new favorite are these Sharp Pebble water stones. I am by far a sharpening expert and have only had these stones for a month. I sharpened all of my Chefs , boning and fillet knifes on these stones and they all shave hair now. My wife was king of knife destroyers(she's much better now), leaving them in the sink or putting them in the dishwasher, most of my knifes were chipped/very dull. I started out with the 400 grit 1st with most of them and worked up to the 6000 grit and I also made myself a leather strop that I use daily instead of my sharpening steel to realign the edge. I have some really cheap knives and a few nice chef knifes and they all got really sharp really fast. The hardest part is keeping the same angle on all your strokes to get that much needed bur. I was able to send away for the free angle guide and that helps with getting the feel and muscle memory for keeping the correct angle during sharpening. I think these stones are great for the price and would recommend to anyone that likes there knives sharp.

Use them correctly for getting super sharp knives
This isnโt the cheapest or the most expensive sharpening stone set, but I found it meets my needs quite well. You get three different stones of increasing fineness (400, 1000, 6000 grit), a much smaller stone that is used to level out the surface of the wet stones after theyโve been used multiple times, a bamboo stone holder, and some rubber bottom pieces for the 3 sharpening stones (which I use when in the bamboo holder as well as when keeping the stones out to dry after use. They work well if used properly (set comes with instructions). My pocket knife is now the sharpest it has ever been!

Amazing stones
i never used that, for starter. i allways wanted a knife sharpner... but after looking up a video with a pro cook, i found out that my "sharpning rod" is not a sharpening tool, its a realignment tool used between each usage... in his video, he demonstrated how to use those stones, so i cliced on the link in his video, and made sure i looked for peeble, because there are other likewise... and ordered that kit... i have no experience using these stones... and therefore wasnt expecting much from my skill, BUT i actualy got suprised... took verry DULL knife, 10$ each... 4 of them... different size... used the 3 stones... water, etc... and i was able to cut fresh herb without having crushed them, sliced through potatoe without hassle, sliced onions like it was butter... those stones has just changed my world. thanks!

Very Sturdy and Good at Sharpening
These whetstones are the perfect tools to use to sharpen your knives and are quite sturdy.

Brilliant. Great value. Easy to use. Works magnificently.
Took a while to decide on which whetstone kit to buy, but was swayed by the excellent reviews this product received. I can confirm that this is an excellent product. On my first attempt I was able to put an exceptional edge on my much used filleting knife (and yes, it did cut slivers off a single sheet of paper, much to my surprise!). Most importantly, I have been able to maintain this degree of sharpness with two or three gentle strokes on my steel, and that is a real bonus. If you are considering purchasing this sharpening kit, do not hesitate. It is an excellent product.
