Exactly what I was looking for!
This book was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a detailed look at how to process raw files and this book turned out to be it. Slightly technical, but not so much that an average person with at least a moderate amount of photo file processing experience, can follow with understanding. I was moving from shooting jpg photos into shooting raw files and this turned out to be just the resource I was wanting. Scott Kelbys books, of which I have several, are always user friendly and very practical. It's got my recommendation fully.

Not for a beginner
Not for a beginner. Even though I had Elements 11 this is way over my head and I'm not interested in all the information on Raw images. Book was returned the very next day.

Great resource even for this long time PS Elements user!
Disclosure: I've only read portions of this book so far.I received this book, and was drawn to the chapter about processing photos using Camera Raw. Although I've been shooting raw files for a long time and using Camera Raw as part of my work flow, I learned a lot of tips and information by reading this chapter, and have been following his suggestions and suggested workflow and am having good results. My next reading will be about sharpening photos.Scott Kelby writes in a very informal and easy to read style which makes it a more enjoyable than books that are written in a "textbook" style that can be very informative, but let's face it, a bit of a bore. I find this book to be a good one for helping me to use PS Elements at a higher level than I have been. And, I also present workshops to my photography club which has quite few members that use PS Elements. In my opinion, if you learn how to process photos using PS Elements which may be arguably the best program for novices, the information learned will be applicable if one decides to use Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop or comparable programs.Bottom line: If you are new to PS Elements or want to get more advanced in your use of the program, I don't think you can go wrong by adding this book to your library. Yes, a lot of the information can be found online, but it's always nice to have one resource that you can use at any time.

Cute, Distacting Writing, but Not Much Meat.
I bought it hoping to master re-touching headshot, but not much here on the Healing Tool, Close Tool, etc. Author tries too hard to be amusing.

As a Newbie to PP I Needed More
I have many of Scott Kelby's books and he really knows his stuff. He teaches by telling the reader to "just do this" and that works great for many of his books on topics that were somewhat familiar to me. Post processing was completely new to me, and I needed more understanding of what was behind the steps--especially with importing. So I ended up also buying Adobe's classroom in a book. Neither book by itself answered all my questions but between the two of them I got what I needed to learn.

AS advertised and very informative!
GREAT book and having used PSE for years I updated from PSE 12 to PSE 20 I wanted to learn about the new features and this book is doing that. LOTS OF INFORMATION. IT is by Scott Kelby who is a great teacher and well known to be one of the best.

Poor image quality
This book by Scott Kelvy is very well crafted from a content point of view, advises wisely, and as always, in all his works, he is very pleasant and entertaining. It seems like a friend is talking to you. But this time the quality of the images is lousy. Impossible to read the contents with the naked eye and worse by zooming in on them, a strange matter in a person who is supposed to be an expert in these matters. Probably it's an editor's' blunder, or Scott didn't check the matter.

Thorough But Complex Sections
A much better manual is Photoshop Elements for dummies. I watched many YouTube videos to supplement the book information, but finally had to by the "Dummies" book.

A remarkably good book ... the best in its class (by far)
I bought Photoshop Elements 2020 for use on my laptop and needed a comprehensive instruction manual. This book was just out and I looked for a review. There was only one review and it was very negative, because the book concentrated so much on RAW images. However, since I now use RAW images, the negative comment was very positive for me and made me want to read the book. I bought the book and was impressed.Instructional books have to tread the line between theory and practice. Too much theory can leave the reader wondering, "Yes, but how do I do it?". Two much practice and the reader finds that they can't adapt it to their own use. This book takes a practical approach but explains why he does things and how you can vary your approach to fit your circumstances. The book is written in Kelby's own style and it's easy to read. It covers the topic comprehensively and in good depth. It seem incomparably superior to many of the photography books I've ever read.It would make great sense for Adobe to package this Kelby book with their product; it would increase both the sales of Photoshop Elements and Kelby's book.

Don't buy the Kindle version
The book is well written but it is not suitable in the Kindle version as the screen shots are very difficult to read. The book has a pull out card at the back but, of course, this doesn't happen with the Kindle version. Amazon should not offer a Kindle version of this book!

I really like this book
I don't use Photoshop often enough to be able to remember how to do everything. So it's nice to have a good easy to read reference book that I can dip into and just check on how to do such and such. This is written with some humour too, so if you do want to go through it, then its a pleasant read.

Easy to follow guide
Whilst available as an e-book I always prefer a physical book for this type of guide as I tend to be working on the computer whilst following instructions, or trying to.I have other books by the author and have always found his stuff is easy to follow, written with a relaxed style without excessive verbose, and takes you through a logical path to achieve the end result. Would recommend for anyone trying to get to grips with Elements.

Good publication but hard copy better than Kindle
This is a decent support item but I made the mistake of buying it on Kindle. It means that the opportunity to see and benefit from the illustrations of screen responses is less flexible or clear, and that the process of moving back and forth across differing chapters is also less flexible than would otherwise be the case. A good publication, helpful and informative, but don't make the mistake that I did if you want to get the best out of it.
