Jasper 240 Circle Cutter Router, Circle Guide Kit (Acrylic)

With a few improvements this thing would be perfect. Takes a few practice cuts with your specific router to line things up. I used this with a Harbor Freight special (listed as compatible) and the 3 hole alignment cut everything 1/2 inch short. Not a huge deal, but still. There is a way to attach it with 2 screws and it is more accurate. The other thing needing improvement is having the markers on both sides. The way it is now, you have to pick your pivot point looking through the jig backwards. Again, not a deal breaker but it would just make it easier to use. Once you dial it in, it works great. Certainly better than the homemade jigs I've made that slips or takes a lot of trial and error to get right.

Bought to make circular cutouts for speakers. using a plunge router and a 1/4 bit it is spot on size wise- only real cons (minor) are the sizing numbers face down while using and the screws pins etc are in a tube and can get separated from the main plastic piece- a case of some sort to hald all barts would be nice for the price- Just make several passes to cut through as suggested - a plunge router makes this simple and you can cut circles all day - nice to see a product work as it should

I would have given this 5 stars all the way across but as other reviewers have noted there are a couple design flaws: the numbering scale should be printed on both sides, and it’s difficult to use for holes smaller than 4” since the sizing holes are under the router base for those smaller diameters. The accuracy of e holes cut is spot on.

I understand torque values and I did not over tighten these mounting screws. When I released the springs on the plunge router and the jig sprung up, the Jasper just flew off the router! The thin plastic holes totally broke off. For nearly $60 for a piece of plastic, I expected something more durable. Maybe the Pro version is better?The Youtube instructional video that Jasper released is not thorough or very instructive. This company needs to up it's game.

Over the years I have always made circle jigs from scrap wood or plastic. These are crude and no too precise. This jig is a joy to use. I am concerned about its durability being made of plastic. Time will tell.

Bigger holes, like 4” and up are perfect. I previously assumed I had screwed up on smaller holes, but I now can see it wasn’t my fault. For example, 2 15/16 came out as 2 27/32, or 3/32 off. The smaller holes are simply WAY off. And it’s really difficult to fix! And yes, I used the included calibration template.

Rather than what other reviews said, it’s actually a little smaller than I hoped for one particular project. But it should work fine for some of my other projects.

Came per schedule. Well designed. Allows more diameter accuracy and easy set up.
