PRINZ Homestead 8-Inch by 10-Inch Rustic Frame in Distressed Finish, Blue

My 11 year old Shih Tzu, Truvy, died the Sunday before Thanksgiving after being treated with chemotherapy for lymphoma since last October. She was responding very well to the chemo and was heading towards remission but she formed a blod clot from which she did not recover. The holiday season was very difficult for me, as I am divorced and Truvy was all that I had. Someone told me to make a memorial for her, so I decided to do a picture collage and needed a frame. Being a man, I have no freaking idea what kind of frame looks *good* but I picked out this one and it arrived yesterday. It looks so great and is such a fitting memorial for my Truvy. I highly recommend this frame.

At first glance, I was fine with the look of this distressed frame. On the shelf, I realized that only the front of the frame has any of the blue color---all the edges are unfinished wood: I get that the frame is a distressed style, but would it have killed the manufacturer to put at least a little blue paint on the sides? It's wood on the front face, backed on some kind of pressed board.The big offense, though: this frame "fits" an 4x6 photo, but it does NOT "display" the entire 4x6 photo! The opening reveal for the photo is actually 5.5 x 3.5 inches. If you don't care about seeing what's on the whole snapshot, I guess this frame will work for you. The website description should make it clear that the opening is less than 4x6.

I'm very happy with this frame. To be clear - it is not solid wood. It has wooden slats over some kind of hardboard (pictured) but I think it looks great for the price. I will definitely reorder.

I'd like to drop this down only 1/2 star from 5, but unfortunately that's not possible. Here's why I can't say FULLY 5 stars though: the tabs on the back are almost too tight to easily take the back on and off. They are good quality swivel tabs that appear will withstand repeated use, but I broke off a nail trying to get them off, and I worry the frame won't allow for me to place a picture with matting because these are so tight. The distressed finish leads to some spots that are not fully covered with paint (which is expected), so those looking for a uniform finish may be disappointed. Still, this is an attractive frame that will work nicely as the gift project it was intended to be. VERY well packaged by the seller, thank you for the well protected shipment!

This frame is adorable. The only issue is that they don’t have very good quality control. The glass has one edge that is very ridged and sharp. It’s not visible once the frame has something in it, but it could definitely cut you. Im too lazy to try to figure out to return things on Amazon because that’s always a huge debacle. So I’m just dealing with it. But be careful not to cut yourself.

If you're questioning getting these or not...go for it! Beautiful with a simplicity and ruggedness. I bought three for our kids yearly school pictures and they're just great!

I purchased this to frame a photo that my daughter entered in a local gallery show. It was the first item that sold in the show.

This is a great quality frame that has the look of old barn wood. I used it for a wedding photo as a gift to my wife for our anniversary, which worked very well as we had a rustic themed wedding with our reception in a barn. For this reason, the frame fit the theme that I was hoping to achieve. The distressed look to the paint is very well done and looks natural, not machine-made. Although the photo and product description state that the paint is white, it is really a creamy/beige color, which works better for the distressed look than white would.
