Minecraft: The Complete Handbook Collection

A great book for my seven year old to learn many tricks and shortcuts with the game. He is a good reader and had trouble reading it sometimes but he managed. The pictures were very helpful. The book covers are very good quality and wont tear. His favorite was the construction handbook. He learned how to make a floating island and a mansion. He said the palace gardens was very cool too! His second favorite was the combat handbook. He learned how to make basic weapons and what the armor protected the player from. This book explained how to protect yourself from silverfish. It showed also what happens if you look at an an enderman in the eye which is bad bad mistake. Lots of info that can really make the game more enjoyable. This is a great set of Minecraft books! My 6 year old son has been begging for these for almost a year now, so I finally caved and bought these for a Christmas gift for him. I love that they are hardback books, as they can't bend and tear very easily. This is a solid and quality set of 4 books that come in a nice case, to keep them all together. This is a must have for any Minecraft fan! He's going to LOVE them - and I'm sure they'll all be out for information when he's playing it on our Xbox 360. The price is unbeatable - as I did a lot of research to find the best deal on them. Make sure you get the updated editions, so you can have the most 'to date' version of the books - although, in another 6 months, we'll probably need an updated version of the updated version. HA!

So I notice most of the reviews are parents saying how much their child loves this collection. WELL. I am not embarrassed to say that I'm a 24 year old mother who bought this for herself. I've been playing Minecraft for 4 years now. It's almost my #1 favorite game. (Classic Tomb Raider is top) I have put a lot of time into Minecraft. When I first started playing I didn't have access to the internet so I learned everything on my own. I still very rarely look for answers on the internet. It's overwhelming to me and just hard to find what I'm looking for. I'm so happy I found these handbooks!! I have become very fluent in the game on my own, but with a game like this it's almost impossible to know everything. One thing I've always had trouble with is Redstone. The Redstone handbook has taught me a general idea of how it works, but I'm still confused with the concept of "endless possibilities". I'm working with it though, and that's something I just didn't do. The colored photos and diagrams they show are so helpful. I've learned many new things from each Handbook. -Like, never place a bed in the Nether or End. -Notch is the creator of Minecraft. -Creepers drop music discs if killed by a skeleton. -You can walk a tamed wolf with a fishing rod. You can also use fishing rods to reel mobs to their death. I haven't read them all cover to cover yet, so I'm sure there's much more to learn. Bottom line, these handbooks are created in a way that they can be understood by all ages. (If you're old enough to play the game, you're old enough to read the books) They are made very clearly with photos of all explanations. They are great for beginners and experts. In fact, if you put so much time into Minecraft that you ARE expert, then you'll want to have these books just as a fan. I've included photos so you can get an idea of what they look like and what's inside. If I could change anything about these books it would be a more thorough explanation of Redstone. Kinda like Redstone for Dummies. But they are perfect. They are beautiful. Everytime I hold them I am taken back to that calming place in gameplay. Important to note: these handbooks are geared more towards the PC/Mac platforms rather than Xbox or Playstation. I personally play on Xbox One, and 99% of the material is still relevant to me. A must have in every little Mine Craft fans library. My son & his friends are always looking up new techniques to hone their skills at the game. I read a few pages & it gets pretty intricate! The books have a lot of information & I love that they stay organized in their own little case. Sadly, my son bought them all in soft cover at the school book fair, months after I had bought this hard cover set & hid it in my Christmas stash. He's gifted the soft cover books to his friends, spreading the wealth of Mine Craft knowledge amongst his fellow 2nd grade gamers.

My daughter is a HUGE Minecraft fan as many other kids are. I'm sure she hasn't fully picked up though the updated pages of the books. She has noticed some and made me question if we bought the right books because it does not say updated on them. It's only on the clear packaging that's over it. But it is the updated version and they are hardcover books for anyone who is concerned (I don't like paperback too much) so this was a huge plus. Great gift and for an AWESOME price!

At first we were very happy with the books as we learned a lot about the game and how to build things, but the redstone handbook is defective. The page numbers go from 1-25, then 74-75, 28-29, 78-79, and then 32-93. So for example you start to get instructions to build a piston door, but they aren't finished. I would like to get another copy of the redstone book that is complete.

My 8 year old son bought this set of books to learn how to build and craft. He is now a Self-proclaimed Minecraft expert. These books are a must for any Minecraft fans. There are 4 handbooks in this collection: Essential, Redstone, Combat, and Construction. Each handbook teaches different skills. The Essential teaches crafting and mining. Directions on how to craft just about anything from weapons to food. You can even craft cake, craft wheat into bread and mushrooms into soup. Redstone teaches how to power things. It explains how to create power sources in doors, traps, lighting, rails and more. Trip wires are cool and there are lots of tips included (tips are included throughout each book). Combat teaches the best way to defeat and create enemies. It teaches both attacking and defending strategies using all sorts of techniques from crouching to building sand towers and so much more. I am told that Combat is the favorite among all peers. Construction teaches how to build and create just about anything from Windows, castles, boats and houses. There's so much to learn. These books are awesome.

Bought this for the kiddos over a month ago. The price was better on Amazon than anywhere else I looked. My kids, 8 and 9, spend a lot of time reading the books and playing Minecraft. These are definitely in their top 5 'go to' books. It was also cheaper to buy the boxed set than each book individually. The books in the box set are hardcover. The pages are thick and glossy. Overall good quality for kids.

My nephew (age 9) is completely obsessed with Minecraft so I thought this would be a pretty fail safe present, and I was right! The books are a lovely quality, and a presented really nicely. I would say that they are quite complex however, and maybe the age range should begin slightly higher.

CONS: - Esta versión solo esta en idioma Inglés. - Agrega poca información a personas Expertas en el juego. - Debería de haber una edición digital. Es un articulo recomendado, sirve para adentrarse en el Mundo de Minecraft o conocer un poco mas. Si el idioma Inglés no es barrera, es un libro muy sencillo de leer.

Per chi è alle prime armi, è di grandissimo aiuto, perché parte proprio dalle basi del crafting, della sopravvivenza, del building structures, e anche di circuiti semplicissimi di Redstone. Per tutti coloro che pensano di sapere davvero tutto su Minecraft, provate a leggere qualche pagina di questo libro e capirete il motivo della mia affermazione! Consigliatissimo, per i più piccoli, per stimolare in loro la creatività che non va mai persa nella vita, e per i più grandi, per far ritrovare loro l'architetto/costruttore/qualsiasi cosa vogliate essere che è nascosto dentro ognuno di noi.
