Ansel Adams 2016 Wall Calendar

The ANSEL ADAMS 2016 WALL CALENDAR is the same as the one sold in retail bookstores at year's end, but I like to buy it from Amazon as soon as it is offered, so that I can write in the next year's appointments (beyond January) as soon as they are scheduled. (The calendar always includes a full page for January of the following year, but my advance appointments usually extend beyond January.)The main reason that I buy this calendar, year after year, is that the extra-large date boxes provide ample space for recording all of my family's medical appointments, upcoming meetings and activities, and other date-related reminders. When hanging open to a month, the calendar measures 15-1/2" wide by 25" long; and the monthly photo and calendar pages each measure 15-1/2" wide by 12-1/2" long. When the year is up, I save the calendar as a quick reference for that year's appointments and activities.Each month's calendar page includes a mini-calendar for last month and next month, and indicates holidays, moon phases, and important items like daylight savings time changes. The black and white photographs by Ansel Adams are beautiful, and every year's selection is different.

What that means to you when selecting a calendar is that, Ansel himself approved his reprinted work. The work you are abut to buy in the form of a calendar. This is not my first Ansel Adams calendar, as I have bought many over the years.IT'S AUTHENTIC ANSEL ADAMS"Perhaps the most important characteristic of my work is what may be called print quality, it is very important that the reproductions be as good as you can possibly get them." - Ansel Adams from the back of the calendar.The classic black and white images exclude people and focus on the life of the natural subject. Each photo has a caption at the bottom indicating place and date. The paper stock is hard and the spiral bound binding is a smart choice because, by the time you get to December, your calendar won't be ripped and hanging by tape or thumbtacks or any other unsightly quick fixes to keep it attached to the wall or wherever. Again, great quality.It has been documented that Ansel was not afraid to take on commercial work in order to pay the bills which confused Adams' mentor Alfred Stieglitz who was concerned that he would be sacrificing his own work. However, that was not the case and this calendar and the smart choices that he made in his lifetime give you a brief snapshot into Ansel's world. You might even want to purchase his books.Stark. This calendar is fantastic! I was actually surprised by the size of it. I usually hang a calendar on the side of my refrigerator, however this one is much too large. It measures around 25x15.5 inches when opened. The squares for each day measure around 2x2 inches. There is plenty of room to write multiple events for each day of the month! If you plan on hanging this on a metal surface, you will need a pretty hefty magnet, as this calendar is high quality and heavy.The quality of the pages is fantastic and the monthly photos are breathtaking! I would highly recommend this calendar to everyone. As a Mom of busy teenagers, there is plenty of room to write down each of their daily activities!I will most definitely be purchasing this calendar in the coming years.

What is not to like. A wall calendar with beautiful pictures taken by Ansel Adams. The paper glossy, thick and strong large enough to write in planned events. This is my second year and I will reorder for 2017 if I don't forget. Better write it down in my new calendar, "Time to reorder".

I get one every year. The dated squares are the largest I have found, so you can write a lot of information in one square, such as birthdays, anniversaries, events, etc. Sure, my phone and email calendar do the same, but it's not the same. Once the reminder sound/vibrate goes off, I look at it (usually) turn the alarm off, and can easily forget again. Seeing all of my monthly events clearly visible at one time helps me stay organized and not forget special events.The pictures are beautiful and go with any decor (black and white pictures throughout). If you like a calendar on the refrigerator, it goes well on a stainless surface; very striking.

I have bought this calendar every year for over ten years now. My husband loves black and white photography and Ansel Adams is one of his all time favorites. I have never once over all of these years been disappointed with this purchase. We are very technologically inclined people, e.g. all our appointments go on a shared calendar on our electronic devices. We don't use this to keep track of appointments it's really more of a monthly changing piece of art. However, the squares for each day are plenty big so if you are more of the traditional writing type and not so technologically inclined you will for sure love this calendar. I am happy to say I will continue to purchase this annually for my husband.

I love my Ansel Adams calendars. I like the big size, the big writing squares for each day and the peaceful, beautiful photography by Ansel Adams. The paper is beautiful, high quality. Also, I like the it has a spiral edge so it stays open nicely when hung. I keep it hung inside the kitchen cabinet and I never tire of the quiet, tranquil photography, while keeping up with my schedule! It's my favorite calendar that I've gotten through the years, so now I just stick with it!

Well, there is no doubting the beauty of these photographs and reproduction quality. However, as an Ansel Adams fan, I was slightly disappointed as I have noticed that the reproductions are not as good as those from the 1993 calendar, which I also own. The photo 'El Capitan' appears in both this and the 1993 calendar so i've been able to make a direct comparison with the two side by side. The two calendars are the exact same size and both published by Little Brown and company, but the company doing the printing has changed. The 1993 version is darker, even allowing for the slight yellowing of the paper, and the details are quite a bit sharper. So it's a real shame. Don't get me wrong, the reproductions are still superb, just not as good as I know they could be.

Very hard to find Ansel Adams calendars in this country. Absolutely stunning photography makes even mundane things look gob-smackingly beautiful. You can even frame pictures when calendar is finished with. I aspire to take pictures like these . . . . .

Love it! Bit expensive, but price comparable with other suppliers. A good-sized calendar with super photographs by the renowned photographer Ansel Adams. I have bought Ansel Adams' wall calendars for the past few years, as I love the beauty of the scenery. Very happy.

I've had one of the these calendars every year for the past 20 plus years and I'm still not tired of them. it's like having a changing piece of art work on your wall. the quality of the paper is consistently good and the layout is a classic.

I have been buying one of these for years for Christmas for a friend of mine, and she loves these calendars. Ansel Adams was an amazing photographer and these calendars reflect his incredible photos to perfection.
