It is not cheap - but worth every penny. If you compare what you get to all other packages this offers simply bigger stones, way more stones, and incredible variety, the customer service is just absolutely brilliant, it is the hightest quality product you could expect - and it's entertaining and has a huge educational value. I'll buy it again and again as a gift and for my other kids

Great size. Provides lots of different types. Great for a new collector. My daughter absolutely loves it! Has a little book explaining the different types too. Couldn’t recommend enough for someone who is getting into rocks, gems and fossils.

The kids love collecting rocks and fossils which this kit has it also comes with a little bag and a book/poster telling you interesting facts about each stone and fossils

This is a great piece of kit, perfect for displaying. Has a bit of everything. Great for kids and adults. Perhaps I would’ve added a small chisel or something to make it easier to break though, as it’s not something most people just have.

Certainly not suitable for toddlers due to looking appetising, these are great for older more mature children with an interest of gems and fossils.My daughter absolutely loves them, but would recommend buying a case for storage, as they get misplaced easily.Well worth the money.

This has gone down very well. It's a good mix of different things, with some activities and a wide range of stones.Definitely can confirm it's a great gift for a 6 year old, when they have friends over there's plenty to do and see in the set. Would buy again :)

Expected a decent sized box.. let's say about the size of a monopoly game box..Instead it was about the size of of a tablet device.Few ok sized stones fair enough about 10.. .. but 2 bags of what was basically very small aquarium gravel.. quarter the size of a pea...Considering no stones are precious or of any value.. just education of course it would be nicer to have a few medium and larger sized rocks rather than a mix of hundreds of particles.280+ of the stones are barely visible and will end up in the bin as can't display. My son loves geology he's not got the gift for his birthday yet.. coming soon..At least I got on black Friday deal.. still feel a bit ripped off.. wouldn't advise paying full price.But I guess u pay the national geographic brand tax.Essentially u get 2 tiny geodes size of a cherry tomato.. 2 bags of polished aquarium gravel.. but smaller..1 bag of about 8 polished stones about the size of a small marble. And a shot glass of fossils u can fit all on a table spoon..And a couple of leaflets a tiny plastic magnifying glass and a tiny pouch..Worth maybe £20 max full price for online.. £30 in-store pushing it..

My second time buying this item, so I can highly recommend. First kit I bought for my 10 year old, for his birthday. Once his 11 year old cousin saw it, he was fascinated, so this Christmas, I have bought it for him. The information booklet doesn't cover all the samples and thats why originally gave 4 stars. However, when my son goes through his collection and can't categorise one, he actually researches it, until he can, which is fantastic and so beneficial for his education. I have always bought little STEM kits, but most don't last after a few experiments. This however does, and they can build onto the collection. The price, the quality and education is excellent. I would highly recommend to any parent.
