Pull the cigarette lighter and with just a wee bit of filing, slid this in. Otherwise a simple installation. Just one caution, since I used the power from a lighter, it was not a "switch" source and stayed on when you turned of the ignition. Make sure you turn off the power switch on the USB!!

I got these, as my car has several cigarette lighters in it, but who uses those any more? The car charger adapter I have would sit loosely in the cig lighter, and I would constantly have to wiggle it or move it around to get it to charge my phone, and even then, it would not charge fast. I recently got a wireless fast charge capable phone mount, and with the cig lighter adapter, I could not get fast charge to work.I got these, and within a couple of hours, (due to having to take my dash apart to install it) I was up and running, providing Quick Charge power to my wireless Qi enabled charger. You can see that in the pic (screenshot).I bought two of them, as I wanted to put one in the front, in my dash, as pictured, but also put one in the back of my center console for back seat riders. Lots of kids today carry chargers with them, and giving them something to plug into eases their frustration over low battery devices...even better if it is a Fast Charger. This clicks off a percentage on my phone ever 2 minutes, which is pretty fast...I like these a lot, and will order more for my other vehicles.

I purchased this to replace my cigarette lighter on my 2007 Lexus GX470. The most significant challenges were related to the Lexus, not this product. I decided to run wire through the firewall directly to the battery, as I wanted it to remain on when the car is off. A couple spools of wire, an inline fuse, and some trim bars and I was ready to go. Lexus trim was a snap to get off (ugh, not pun intended) after watching a couple youtube videos. Only challenge was the threads made this unit a little larger than the hole. Nothing five minutes of 80 grit sandpaper couldn't fix. It popped right into the hole after that. Plugged it in and reassembled the console. The charger has performed as advertised. I don't use the on/off button, but it is definitely a challenge for larger fingered individuals. So far, the unit has charge Android and apple phones, ipads, and watches with ease, including on a 1200 mile road trip. I am happy with the purchase and ease of install. New life and tech to an outdated vehicle console!

Bought this to replace the factory USB in my 2011 Silverado LT that hasn't worked in years. The factory single USB is a booger to get out, tip: just take your dash panel off, unhook the cigarette lighter, traction control, and USB plug and push the USB socket out from behind. Take the locking ring that comes with this dual USB socket off and screw the socket in from the front, it fits the factory opening without modification, once it bottoms out straighten it and tighten the locking ring on from the back to secure the socket in place. Wiring is straight forward, you need a positive and a negative. I tapped into the positive and negative that supplies power to the cigarette lighter. On my truck its a constant power so I can use the USB with the ignition off if I choose. Some vehicles the cigarette lighter is a switched power meaning it only powers up with the ignition on. Overall, I'm ecstatic to have a working usb port in my truck again, only time will tell how long it holds up. It feels very well built. 5 stars.

I installed this in my 1994 GMC pick-up. I have never seen anything charge this fast. I primarily use my Samsung Note 4 in my truck and the phone is fully charged from dead in less than 20 minutes. I have been using it for about 3 weeks with no degradation in my phones battery or functionality. Again this is a old truck with an old battery and I have not seen any excessive battery drain or alternator strain even with the lights on and HVAC on high. My phone remains fully charged even when streaming Pandora to my bluetooth stereo and running Waze with the screen on. Instalation was very easy other than cutting a hole in my dash. Basically I used a "fuse tap", I puchased here for the positive lead and attached the included "O" washer on the negative lead to a grounding bolt I found under the dash. So basically I didn't have to splice any wires. Very happy with this purchase

Nice upgrade from the standard female 12v plug, I installed this in a 2008 gmc duramax, I was replacing my radio so I swapped this out while i had everything apart, I just spliced into the red 12v wire and the black ground that fed the original plug, I like that it can be turned on and off on the plug, I did have to drimel out the plastic for it to fit but it wasn’t to bad, I did not use the inline fuse that came with it since the circuit it’s on is already fused, make everything look clean and factory.

Nice power outlet. Easy to install. I used three of them one replace a power outlet one replace a cigarette lighter and one replace a power outlet in the back of my truck. They're all hooked up to switch sources so they turn off when the truck is off. Replacement was easy same size as the power outlet and cigarette lighter in my truck just took those out put these in and tighten down the Locking nut.

Like the small charger size allowing me the ability to find a place to install on my bike. Came with short pos and neg leads for battery. I had to drill my hole with a step drill, crimp my own wire connections and custom length my own 16 AWG red and black wires and then I insulated the terminal leads with heat shrink and heat gun. Came out very professional. Now I could navigate with my Garmin via blue tooth and a Cardo.
