Dean and Tyler Wire Basket Muzzle, Size No. 11 - Newfoundland

My dog has a awkward head size.. he is a German shepherd but much bigger than a standard sized one so I ordered a bigger size than what would be normal it is a little big but workable. I used treats to get him to put his muzzle in on his own and he wears it without hassle. He can still drink in it and works for the occasional time where I need to have him in it.

This thing is expensive, but you get what you pay for. First off, this muzzle is sturdy and well made, just what you'd need for a strong dog. Our 6 month old Leonberger is completely nonaggressive but has developed a fondness for chewing up the woodwork on our deck. Enter the Dean and Tyler Muzzle. He doesn't like wearing it, but the main decision point for us was the generous wire basket allows our dog to drink whenever he is thirsty. No chewing though. Porch is safe, dog is ticked off, problem solved.

My very large Rottweiler gets very excited when the dog next door barks at the fence and he has bitten one of our other dogs a couple times, the last needing stitches. So now when he goes out he wears this muzzle and no more accidents. It is easy to adjust, is made very well, and will not come off if pawed at. The padded nose piece has great padding and won't rub on your dogs nose. It is also made so that your dog can pant and drink water while wearing it.

When ordering for an Irish Wolfhound, pay special attention to muzzle length and allow a little extra room.We've used this muzzle for 2-3 weeks to keep our IW pup from eating the furniture, walls, pillows, dog beds, newspapers, remote controls, etc., etc. She is able to drink water while wearing the "Hannibal Lector" mask while our house survives our time away. She did manage to get the muzzle off of her nose once, so be careful when setting up and sizing.

This muzzle adjusts in many ways, making it a fantastic fit for my malinois. He can eat, drink, pant, everything but bite! The nose cushion also adds to his comfort. Win-win!
