The book looks nothing like the picture on the cover. I hope it’s the right one my daughter wanted

What's most important is the knowledge inside, but it's disappointing when the uniform edition isn't as advertised.The first two books have a textured, white appearance; while the third book has a glossy yellow finish. The spine is different as well.If you're looking for a uniformed collection, be mindful when purchasing.

Constantin Stanislavski is THE instructor for training the actor. This volume is one part of a three part set on training the actor. It is present in a very easy to follow format ,, it's as though one is reading a story. Highly recommended for any student of the theatre.

日本で刊行されている「俳優修業」は２冊のみで、これは「An Actor Prepares」「Building A Character」の翻訳です。しかし、スタニスラフスキーは三部作として書こうとしていました。彼が死に、未完となってしまった最後の作「Creating A Role」は、日本では翻訳されていません。この本は、実際の舞台演出をモデルに出して、彼の演技理論、演出理論、俳優理論を雄弁に語っています。その中で要求されている内容は、詳細でレベルが高く、前二作が「俳優訓練向き」だとすれば、まさしくこれは「実戦向き」といえるでしょう。スタニスラフスキーが最終的に、どこまでのことを考えていたのかが垣間見られる著作です。
