Challenging Logic Puzzles Review: Very Challenging but the best kind of Fun! - Very Challenging and fun the best! Induction reasoning at it's finest. It can't be this because of that. I start crossing things off on scratch peice of paper and then you actualy figure out how your mind works. But each of the puzzles were great. It actuallys helps with work too, if you catch someone that sticks with two mutually exclusive acusations. Brilliant and Fun! Review: I like it - I spend at least one hour a day with this book along with some other kind of exercises and I also like to compare my way of solving to the one given in book. There are different kind of puzzles and they are really challenging. Further you go tougher it gets.

Challenging logic puzzle book
This was my first ever logic puzzle book and overall I found it challenging and entertaining. I just finished the entire book. The puzzles get harder as you go which kept it interesting for me. The only downside is that it can get repetitive since the variety of question types is limited. I would recommend it to someone at a high school level and above since a lot of the puzzles require heavy logic and patience in order to figure out. I felt some of the answers could have been written in a way that teaches you to think through the puzzles instead of just giving you the answer straight, but I only needed to defer to the answers for a couple of questions so that wasn't a huge issue for me. Overall I felt this book was quite challenging and really a true logic puzzle book.

Much harder in reality than the samples made it appear
The sample puzzles that the "look inside" feature shows are easier than the puzzles it doesn't show. I was impressed with this and recommend it for anyone who truly is searching for challenging puzzles. These are NOT for beginners or those who quickly become frustrated. The obvious solution is usually wrong, at least in this book.

Not for everybody
These puzzles are for logicians. For anyone who isn't prepared to parse out precisely what each clue does or doesn't tell the reader about the puzzle, they will be quite difficult. If the NYT crossword puzzles are an 8, these are an 11. They are to the usual run of puzzles as Scientific American or Science is to Popular Science Magazine. So if the reader is looking for mental exercises that tax but do not baffle, look elsewhere. I guess that makes the book "good", in that the contents is genuinely difficult, and well-presented-e.g., the answers to successive puzzles are not on successive pages in the back, but spread around so that the answer to one puzzle is not adjacent to the answer to the next. But for someone simply trying to stave off dementia or recover from a stroke, these can be discouraging.

Good Buy!
I purchased this book wanting brain teasers for an adult. This product is very good. The challenges are different in format and style, so you aren't working the same type of puzzle over and over again. I received this book yesterday and I was very impressed. Some of the puzzles are similar to the logic games you see on an LSAT exam. So if you are wanting something along those lines to challenge you, this is a good choice.

Inaccurate clues, missing important information. Unworthy of Mensa insignia.
Several clues are inaccurate or missing important information. Solutions are not justified to determine the basis for the answer. Some puzzles had multiple valid answers that the book did not include as a solution. This book fails all requirements of real logic puzzles: They must have accurate word usage, accurate punctuation, and accurate sentence structure. Unworthy to be associated with Mensa, the organization that requires members rank higher than 98% of the 'general' population on an IQ test. IQ is supposed to indicate ability to learn. Critics claim IQ tests are designed to test memory, which I found to be valid. This book does not challenge one's ability nor memory. I deemed the book unworthy of being donated to someone. I threw it away.

but she has finished some and she is feeling better about things so all in all a worthy purchase
Challenging is all one can say about these. I got them for a family member who is struggling with memory issues. I knew she was going to struggle with them, and intended them to be difficult. She has told me more than once they succeeded, but she has finished some and she is feeling better about things so all in all a worthy purchase.

The puzzles start "challenging", and generally seem to increase in difficulty to "slightly more challenging than earlier" -- very aptly named title! All in all, it's a solid collection of logic puzzles -- with a few archetypes repeating (most common is the "rearrange the columns in the correct order"-type puzzles), but it mixes things up by including other scenarios (ordering statements, sorting through true/false statements, etc). Every puzzle can be solved without any prior knowledge nor any leaps in logic required. You'll definitely get your money's worth as well as there are a ton of puzzles (with fully explained solutions at the back if you would want to ruin the experience for yourself :P). So if you want a book with no gimmicks (what I mean, is that each puzzle is self-contained, and when it's done, you move onto the next one), just a collection of moderate-difficult puzzles, this book is highly recommended. If you enjoy a good puzzle, you've likely seen types of these before, so nothing revolutionary, but the collection here is solid, and it's exactly what I was hoping it would be.

A good variety of difficulties and range of puzzles. I'm getting through the book quite slowly as I use them as time fillers, but they are very enjoyable and the answers are not in the same order so there's no risk of accidentally peeking at an answer before you do the puzzle! I also like that the answers explain the thought process so you can understand the way of thinking.

When it arrived it wasn’t what I thought so I was disappointed.
