UPDATE:This worked great for a couple of months and then the middle piece - the small metal ring- started popping out. I can put it back but now it constantly comes apart. It’s just poorly made. Sadly.This is exactly what I needed for my kitchen sink. Now all the scraps aren’t going down the drain into our septic. It fits good. It catches all the scraps. When you turn it and push it down it holds water perfectly!Some stuff gets stuck to it but it isn’t too difficult to clean it out.

The drain itself is metal but the stopper is plastic. It will not last very long .

OK, this is my first ever negative review on Amazon, and it is weird but I am fired up about some terrible sink strainers. Do not buy this product unless you just like having A class junk in your home or just like setting your money on fire. The quality is so flimsy - if I had bought it at the 99 Cent Store I would have understood but not for $9.99 as priced. Even after measuring my sink it does not properly fit my sink drain. OUTRAGEOUS! This is a scam. Now I'm off to the hardware store to buy something decent. Caveat Emptor my fine shopping friends.

My wife tasked me to a very important marital issue- to look for new kitchen sink basket stops. Our problem was our old kitchen sink stops didn't work holding the water in the sink while (I) washed the dishes. We looked in local hardware stores trying to find the right kitchen basket stops that hold water in the sink- we bought a couple different brands with no luck holding the water in the sink. (This was sinking my marriage). After some careful research on Amazon I settled on these kitchen basket stops. They look great, good quality and best of all- they hold water in both sinks! They Work! (and saved my marriage for another day or task).

The product over works fine but the material thickness is like 1/2 of the old one that I replaced and it feels thin and weaker than the old one. Also, for the shape of my sink drain, even if the rubber stopper is in up position, it only allows for very small gap for slow drainage. I have to tilt up the unit to get faster drainage instead. However, for the price, it is still an OK value.

It's about 1/8" smaller than advertised but this doesn't seem to impair its function in my Kohler sink. The strainer is really cheaply made of thin stainless steel (no rusting though after a couple months' use) and the centre pin is a metallized plastic. The coating is already wearing off on this centre piece and showing a brown colour underneath.The plug is sized properly and more-or-less seals the sink but expect a slow leak due to how light the basket is so it's not going to hold water in your sink for a long period of time. All in all, this may be an ok purchase given its lower price if it lasts a decent amount of time. Time will tell.

Stopper parts in the middle are made of cheap plastic and detach from the strainer after a few months of use. Tried gluing back, but the glue didn't last too long. Replacing now with a simple strainer only solution (no stopper). Disappointing that such a simple device (strainer with stopper) can not be made to last.

Worked well...not stellar but did what it's advertised to do

The basket aspect is great for catching scraps but it would not seal the drain so the water would drain out.
