Great upgrade
This is my second Tekchic Wood Burner Kit. I previously had a 50W which I loved, so was looking forward to the new 60W. The burner came quickly and I love the fact it has its own carrying case! The kit comes with two pens that can be connected at the same time and toggled back and forth so you don't have to constantly change tips. Changing the tips is not as easy, in my opinion, than the 50W, but not a deal breaker by any means. The pens are easier to hold and great for smaller hands like mine. The kit comes with a nice assortment of smaller tips than the 50W which was great for the 2 signs I started with to get a feel for the pens and tips. I was going to give a 4 star rating originally as the "chuck" on one of the pens was defective. Tekchic has awesome customer service, and Claire understood my problem and is sending out another pen. With both a great product and great customer service, I upped my rating to a 5! Looking forward to burning many more projects with this 60W Burner!I have been using my burner for a few months now and simply love it! The heat remains pretty constant and the dual pens make it so easy to switch pins when needed. Haven't had any issues since the pen replacement and couldn't be happier with it. Attached a few more pics of recent works.Update time again: OK, have been using this wood burner for some time and still love it. I had problems recently with the temp fluctuating. Claire, who is awesome at customer service, checked with the technicians and they suggested changing my tips, that maybe they had carbonized, made sense as I have been using them for a while. I changed the tips and sure enough the burner is once again burning the way I like it. Until next time, happy burning!

Great tool for projects big and small
I got this one after using one of the crummy craft tools for years then briefly trying out the slightly lower model by the same company. I love pyrography and underestimated how much better a good tool would be. I did a lot of research and thought I’d need a more powerful model but this is plenty. The pens are really comfortable to hold. They get a tad warm but not uncomfortably so. I love that two can be plugged in at once. After just a few projects, I already have my favorite tip which is always loaded into one pen then I switch out tips in the other depending on my needs and toggle power between the two.The stands are something I didn’t realize were so necessary. I put the small sponges in the trays and keep them wet. I dab off the buildup on the damp sponge periodically and also dab the pen tip after I’ve turned it off just to help it cool faster. It’s not entirely necessary though, the holders hold the pens at a safe angle so they don’t touch anything and can safely heat up or cool down in place. The pens heat up so fast! I used to have to power up 10 minutes before starting a project then I’d have to take regular breaks to allow the tool to reheat after particularly intense areas. These pens get hot fast and stay hot for quick and accurate burning.I’m so excited to explore my abilities with this new machine. It’s been a fun past few days, I figure it’s going to keep getting better as I experiment more.

Great quality
I really have nothing to compare this to other than the cheap burner pen set from Walmart, but I will say that I have not had any issues out of this machine. I am new to woodburning, and read a ton of reviews before I settled on this one. It heats up super quick, the tips are easy to change out and they give you quite a few of them. I wish the power cord was a little longer to give more options on where this can be done, but that is honestly my only complaint.

Solid Beginner or Hobbyist setup
I recently picked up the TEKCHIC 60W Professional Wood Burning Kit to try my hand at wood burning, and overall, I’m pretty satisfied with what I got for the price. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:Pros:Affordable: One of the biggest selling points of this kit is the price. If you’re just starting out in wood burning and don’t want to commit a lot of money upfront, this is a great entry-level option. It allows you to get into the hobby without draining your pocket.Variety of Bits: The kit comes with a good range of tips and accessories, giving you the flexibility to experiment with different techniques. Whether you're doing fine detail work or larger shading, you have the tools to explore a range of styles.Great for Beginners: If you’re just testing out wood burning and want to see if it’s something you’d enjoy before upgrading to something more expensive, this kit is perfect. It’s a good way to dip your toes into the hobby without breaking the bank.Cons:Pens Get Hot: One thing to keep in mind is that the pens do get pretty hot during use, which can be a bit uncomfortable if you're working for extended periods. Just be sure to take breaks and handle the pen carefully. Not the Highest Quality: While the kit is solid for beginners, the overall quality of the tools and materials isn't on par with professional-grade equipment. The pen feels nice, but the tips might wear down faster than those on higher-end models. But, for the price, it’s to be expected.Final Thoughts:For the price, this is a solid product that does exactly what it promises. It’s definitely not for professionals, but if you’re just starting out and don’t want to drop a ton of money on a high-end wood burner, it’s an excellent choice. It’s a huge step up from the basic wood-burning kits you’ll find at places like Hobby Lobby, and it provides a lot more versatility and control for your designs. If you’re looking to experiment with wood burning as a hobby without committing a lot of money, I highly recommend the TEKCHIC 60W kit. It’s a great value, and it’ll give you a good idea of whether this is something you want to pursue long-term.
