An absolutely fascinating upgrade for the 2006 Honda Accord catapulting it to 2022
5/24/2022.. A quick follow up review. Its been close to a year and I am still very happy. Briefly I had some concerns when it started behaving erratically but then realized the issue was with the alternator which was not providing adequate voltatge to the battery. once I replaced the alternator this unit came back to life and been working with no issues. This unit is a bit more expensive than the others, there is a reason why. Far superior processor and screen and customer service. Dont try to save a few bucks, get this you will have no regrets. On a 2006 Honda Accord EXL-NAV, It brought excitement into my car. Previously I was bored of driving it. Now, this is my favorite car in the household to drive, despite it being 16years old. I will lay down the pros and cons, try to be concise.ProsOutstandingly amazing screen that is higher resolution and full HD, this sets it apart from all the other copies out there so do make note.Extremely fast processor, and instant response to most button touchesThe capacitive resistance screen is outstanding, simply the best. Its hard not to admire the screen while seated in the carFull open source feel, you can download any number of apps from the playstoreYou can attach several devices USBWIRELESS CARPLAY! . loving it. no more wires, just sit in the car, start the engine and it picks up your IphoneAfter sales support is the best I have experienced. I believe the person is located in China but responds almost instantaneously to your questions and never gets tired or complainThe Unit has a built in amp with DSP and configurable bass and equalizer settings. I noticed that the bass settings can be dramatically enhanced even with stock speakers by using the built in equalizer. The audio quality far exceeds that of OEM radio. The climate control buttons simply work, everything!. I was quite pleasantly surprised. The buttons also have a faint backlight so the area comes to life at night in a pleasant way.I would highly recommend this unit over all others in the market. The main reason is the higher resolution screen and faster octacore processor and more RAM at this price point. Overall, I would give this unit 6 stars but knocking out one for lack of instructions to 5 stars. But making the connections is intuitive and that combined with solid aftersales support, I would give this unit my highest recommendation. The cherry on the topping is that they shipped me a free backup camera, it was worth about $12 and I just bought another one anyway, the enrapta RT11 I believe. Backup display is through RCA so not the highest resolution but more than enough for its purpose.ConsFitment in the Navigation is not perfect, but adequate. As you can see in the 2nd photo, there is a 0.75cm gap between the bottom edge of the vent and the radio. Radio is attached via the 3 screws and pressed into position using the adjacent parts. This isnt the best, but adequate simply because the radio and the screen is so light compared to what it replaced. 1lb vs 15lbs.Mic is not powerful enough so I am still in search of a solutionInsufficient instructions, zero manuals

Good replacement head unit w/ Apple Carplay and Android Auto, instant on, reverse camera support
So far after a week of using it, it seems like the head unit does everything it claims. Both Apple Carplay and Android Auto work. I haven't tested wireless Carplay, though. I just borrowed my gf's iphone to test wired Carplay.I installed a reverse camera and spliced power into my reverse lights in the trunk, ran the video wire and signal wire up through the trim to the console area and spliced the 'power signal' wire in successfully with the brown "BACK" labeled wire from the main power plug, and then there's a separate video input cable just for the reverse camera that is included that you have to plug in (see pictures). Works great, automatically switches to reverse when I change gear and then switches back to whatever screen it was doing before. There's options to have the volume decrease when you're in reverse mode to help you concentrate lol, not a bad idea.Unfortunately, it is severely lacking in installation instructions (why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) so you may need to research some guides from YouTube or other manufacturers and try to figure out a couple things. I took some images that I hope helps out others. I have a 2003 Honda Accord V6 EX-L. I believe this fits any 2003-2007 accord.I later downloaded a blank black background image to use as the background, since the interface and icons are not my favorite (I don't know if I can change them), but overall the custom Android 10 ROM works fine, the unit is very responsive, no complaints about speed and performance. The only time I've had to wait on it for a few seconds is when starting Android Auto, but I think that may be an issue with my old Galaxy S8 being slow these days.I actually find the sound quality to be excellent in my case. Minor annoyance of having to select bluetooth sound in a menu or two rather than automatically switching to it instead of the radio, for example, when turn on the car.One other complaint may be the my original head unit had a "MAX AC" button that really cranked up the fan speed above the normal highest setting. I'm not sure if there's any way to enable that same mode with this head unit. It feels like it doesn't pack quite the same A/C punch and fan power as before, but it's not a deal breaker.Overall, I'm satisfied and I think it's worth it if you are looking at a head unit replacement, this one seems to be the most updated and powerful out of all the options I saw, some were cheaper but most don't have Apple Carplay and have cheaper specs. So the extra $100 is worth it if you want those features.
