Studious Rabbit Bookends

Love these studious bunny bookends. They are heavy enough to keep my books upright and they add a nice touch of whimsy.

My traditional wedding gift is a pair of bookends and I had looked for a while before I found these. I thought they were wonderful, cute without being too cutesy. My niece said she LOVED them and that they had been looking for bookends but hadn't found the right ones yet, and now she has "the right ones". I thought they were especially good for the price, which I thought was very reasonable. I'd certainly buy these again.

Rabbits arrived intact and they are really nice and heavy quality. As other reviews have stated they are not bronzed like the picture, rather black with a little bronze on the books. I think they are still nice and I am pleased with the product.

Purchased as gift for my grand daughter I searched for bookends made of metal instead of resin. Arrived with arms broken off poorly packaged with bubble wrap individually on each and a very broken piece of too small styrofoam Also I was very disappointed in how dark the metal was so dark that it hid the minimal detail of the rabbit. This was a good idea but poorly wrapped poorly made and not as pictured. —I had another set sitting in my cart and now I know why this morning I received a message from Amazon saying the price of these bookends were lowered by $20.00

Now sure what i was thinking when I purchased these for that price. The first one arrived with one of the two ends broken, the other covered in black paint or finish. I ordered a return and the second order arrived with one broken and the other covered in black paint finish. At the end of the day I have two non-broken book-ends that are covered in blackened finish and not heavy enough to hold up the children's board books I was looking to have them hold-up. Not worth it at all.

These bookends are nice and heavy, perfect for holding books. However, I am disappointed in the color, They are described in the description as having a dark bronze finish, but the pair I received looked like they had been painted black with minuscule amounts of bronze applied in one or two locations. They are not shiny like the photo suggests. I'm going to try painting mine bronze and then adding a few black highlights.

These darling bookends are holding my collection of French cookbooks on the countertop in my kitchen. Somethingabout the design of these rabbits reminds me of the rabbit in "Mr Rabbit and the Lovely Present" from my childhood~Maurice Sendak was the illustrator. I love these rabbits. They are good sized, heavy bookends~ & they don't slipon the smooth granite countertop.

I knew what I was up for when I ordered what I was going to have to do to get them to have the right finish since I read the reviews how they were black when it was supposed to have a bronze patina. It looks like some sort of releasing agent to get the cast out of the mold that just can be wiped off a bit with Naptha which cut it off. Then I sprayed them with a bronze hammer tone paint. Took 30 minutes total or so. The first photo is after cleaning the 2nd after spray painting.
